Have you ever noticed this about Jesus?

He regularly taught that he was "sent" from GOD right? Yet check this out.

John 13:16, 20 "I tell you the truth, slaves are not greater than their master. Nor is the messenger more important than the one who sends the message. I tell you the truth, anyone who welcomes my messenger is welcoming me, and anyone who welcomes me is welcoming the Father who sent me."

John 15:10 "When you obey my commandments, you remain in my love, just as I obey my Father’s commandments and remain in his love."

Comparing these verses Jesus says that he himself was sent by One that is greater than he is and that he obeys that One. How could his illustration be accurate and yet he still be a "co-equal" with the Father?

Compare 1 Corinthians 11:3

"But there is one thing I want you to know: The head of every man is Christ, the head of woman is man, and the head of Christ is God."

How is it possible for his illustrations to be accurate if he is GOD also?

Update:

Trinity doesn't fit the scriptures. See John 17:3. GOD wouldn't base your entire life prospects on a "mystery" you can't understand.

Compare Matthew 13:11

I guess you never obey or humble yourself before your wife out of love.

Notice how Jesus never claimed to be superior to God in any way? He did claim to be equal with God; that He and God were one; that to see Him was to see the Father. And he also said He agreed to come - He was sent and He gladly came. He wasn't sent as a Master sends a slave on an errand! The plan of salvation was worked out before any creation started, and the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit knew what would happen with humanity on this planet, even before they created the universe!

Just as the Son agreed to add human nature to His divine nature in order to be the Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world, so the Holy Spirit agreed to be sent to Christians after Jesus returned to heaven. We get important glimpses into the relationships they have, within the Godhead; the Son relates to the Father as sons relate to fathers. There is no indication that the Father created the Son at a particular time, however. They have always existed in unity in the Godhead, which is why the Son would never act outwith the will of the Father, for that would be to violate His own divine nature and being!

That is why Jesus did not grasp on to the equality He had within the Godhead prior to the incarnation. He agreed to let go of it, for a season, in order to become a servant, on our behalf. Philippians 2:6. Now He has been glorified with the glory He had in heaven, He has been given the name that is above every name so that in the name of Jesus, every knee will bend. The structure of authority in the Godhead is such that this adoration will come to the Father. That is why Jesus told His followers that they must give Him the SAME honour as they give the Father (John 5:22-23). The same honour; not a little bit less. The same. Just get a hold of that, then the authority illustrations will fit in better for you.

He is a co-equal with God. See JOhn 10:30.

It is an interesting question and I had many like it before. But they rapidly got solved when I asked my parents or the priest at my school and it always made sense. Just don't let anyone make you change your mind about Jesus and God in their rude comments and most importantly never lose your faith in them !!! Good luck :)

In the old testament in Zechariah God speaks of the coming messiah, he says "they will look on "me" whom they have pierced. Jesus said "if you have seen me you have seen the Father" Jesus was sent by the Father but is also one with Him. I always have said trying to understand the true nature of God is like trying to count the sands of a beach or trying to dry you car in the rain as it beats down. We get such a small taste of his true majesty and glory in this life and I don't believe he can be contained in our tiny minds.

  • Going over the flaws in the Bible is something that has been done for centuries... Sh*t, this is only what the ACCEPTED versions/translations say! Start looking at the hundreds of texts that were "Edited Out" and it gets even more retarded.

You can't make sense out of fictional, mythological, magical nonsense. It isn't even worth trying... If you want to waste your time nit-picking, at least get a laugh out of it and read one of the many "Nit Picker's Guides to..."

You'll laugh your butt off reading the Nit Picker's Guide to The X-Files.
