Was he trying to tell me something?

Do guys test girls like this? What happens if you think she does like you? Do you still wait?

As I was writing out a previous question, I kind of figured something out, sort of... Maybe he was trying to tell me something??

My guy friend (my crush) and I were in the car the other night and we were about a half hour from home and he told me that a mutual friend of ours wanted to drive him home because she wanted to talk to him about something. And he had asked her if it was important or if it could wait until tomorrow... She said it could wait... but the girl was like "did she bring you up? I can bring you back home..." -- so he would basically be ditching me. Because when he told me that she basically would "take over" for me, essentially... I got a little sarcastic and said "that's nice of her" and then he said she need to talk about something and I was like "oh, ok" -- but still... if it could've waited, she didn't have to make a big deal about driving him home or anything. she could've called him or talked to him in person at the place we all met at... right?

But I just kind of figured something out... He didn't have to tell me anything. But he thought I should know... He could've been testing me to see what my reaction would've been... or he could've just been saying that he was choosing me over someone else.

Right? Or am I just over analyzing this situation?
