Would I be wasting my time applying at Hollister?

Hi,

I'm nearly 16 and was contemplating whether to apply to Hollister for a job or not.

It seems like such a cool place to work, and I know someone who works there and they say it's quite good. Anyway, it's just an idea.

So, here I am- (prepare to be scared:L)

(there's 2 photos if you look on the right)

Now I realise I'm not very pretty, I know, but you don't have to be gorgeous to work there do you? Just gotta' have the look that promotes the brand appropriately and represent the company accordingly?

So yeah, judging by my appearance, would it be valuable to apply when the time comes or not?

Thanks:)

(and btw, I'm the girl on the right in the picture of the 3 girls..just in-case:L)

I viewed your picture and you are a very attractive/nice looking young lady. As others stated go in person to the store and apply looking your very best you don't have to apply for a model position try Impact Team Member job. Below are interview experiences, questions and tips provided by people who applied at Hollister. Good Luck!!

Advice: Just be yourself. Very laid back interview. Make sure you enunciate when you talk (loud and clearly) because there will be music playing in the background and you want to make sure what you are saying is being heard.

Impact Team Member at Hollister Co. Interview New York (May 2012 - took 5 days)

I applied to the Hollister on 668 Fifth Avenue. You have to go to the back and take the elevator downstairs. It was a group interview of 8 people including myself. The interviewer was very laid back and friendly. He/she asks you four questions that he picks at random for everyone to answer. They were fairly general questions about past experiences and working as part of a team. Be sure to know what diversity is and what it means to you though. They are definitely going to ask that question.

Interview Questions What is diversity and what does it mean to you?

Our tag line for the company is "Hi, how are you?" Give me an example of how you would say this to a customer. Do you have any experience working in retail?

Impact Team Member at Hollister Co.Received and Accepted Offer

Interviewed in New York, NY (Feb 2011 - took a day)

I applied to the Flagship store in Soho, i scheduled my interview for a Tuesday. They do look at what your wearing but they just want to make sure you fit the "look" policy. I went in with a navy blue Hollister polo, levis jeans and a pair of grey vans. For guys i recommend you go in with a clean shaved face Yes! that means everything off your face also no earrings. Girls no highlights, gel, or any type of hair products, everything has to look natural. I got asked 4 questions not including the introducing myself. 1. What is diversity and why is it important in the workplace? 2. How would you be succesfull in hollister? 3. How would family and friends describe you. 4. Describe hollister in one word. Remember too smile and be as friendly as possible. Make sure you dont sound like a computer.

What is diversity and why is it important in the work place?

How would you be successfull at hollister?

Impact Team Member at Hollister Co. Interviewed Charlotte, NC (Jul - took 2 weeks)

I went in the store on a Sunday and asked to apply where I was directed to a computer. The computer application was just like any online application. I applied to be interviewed the following Tuesday, but since I didn't hear anything from them I didn't go in.

On Thursday I got a call from them asking if I could come in next Tuesday to be interviewed. I went in the store fifteen minutes early and just sat down waiting. Several other people came over time. In the end there were about 8-10 people to be interviewed. About ten minutes after the interview was supposed to start the manager took us to the food court. Two people were applying for model positions and the rest were applying for impact. We all took turns answering questions. The models were asked different questions from the impacts members. Once we had all been asked about four or five questions the interview was over. The manager went over dresscode and told us if we got the job we'd hear back from them in a week. Then it was over. They called the following Saturday to tell me I got the job and that I had orientation the next day.

Interview Questions Define diversity and is it important in the workplace and why?

For impact: Describe a time you had to work alone? For impact: Describe a time when you had to work with a group of people? (use school if no work experience).

For models: Describe yourself in one word? For Models: Describe the Hollister style?

Yeah particular shops, in spite of the reality that they do no longer come rapidly out with it, are picky with their employees actual seen allure. Say heat venture rely has a activity commencing up. Theyre efficient as hell unlikely to hire some incredible and happy rainbow woman. they're greater advantageous probably to hire some punk-looking teenager. i might prepare someplace else. Ew why might y % to artwork at hollister as nicely?

Based on experience if they ask you to apply online, don't even bother as they will never see your application.....my sister's Hollister had this computer where you apply in that store, so i dont know if your local Hollister has that. I would suggest asking to speak to the manager directly. Looks may work for you (my sister did). Good luck!
