Why do people keep trying to link Romney to the "white horse prophecy"?

The white horse prophecy (which isn't official mormon doctrine, but some members do believe it) says that Mormons are going to save the constitution. I have news for you. Romney isn't going to try and save the constitution, if he did, he would be running on Ron Paul's platform.

Update:

I am not debating if the white horse prophecy is true. The point is, Romney wouldn't qualify. If we go by what the LDS prophets have said,

“I have had some of the most insulting letters that ever came to me, condemning me for not being in favor of the Townsend Plan (original name of Social Security), and that I must be ignorant of the plan. I am not ignorant of the plan… it is in direct opposition to everything I have quoted from Brigham Young and from the revelations of the Lord.” (Heber J. Grant, General Conference, Oct 1936)

“Occasionally, we receive questions as to the propriety of Church members receiving government assistance instead of Church assistance. Let me restate what is a fundamental principle. Individuals, to the extent possible, should provide for their own needs. Where the individual is unable to care for himself, his family should assist. Where the family is not able to provide, the Church should render assistance, not the government.” (Elder Ezra Taft Benson,

There was something which is believed to have been said by a prophet. It was only an opinion of a man, but critics of the Church have taken it and twisted it into what the Church believes and teaches. And there are many who believe what the critics say is true over what a Church member says the Church actually teaches.

    Pale Horse.

In the real Bible the rider on the Pale Horse was Death.

In a pretty good western it was Clint Eastwood.
