Auto import from Canada into USA?
I live approximately 1000 miles south from the border of Canada. I want to know what takes place crossing the border back into the USA if I were to travel to Canada and buy one of the toyota cars they have imported from japan. What problems if any arose. As only Canada and the UK import directly from jp.

You'll need a letter from Toyota stating that your car meets all US safety and emission standards or you can't register it in the US.

If the car is available in canada and not sold in the USA, chances are it doesn't meet US emmissions and/or safety standards.
The US has the strictest emissions standards in the world.
As mentioned, you would need proof that is does meet the above states requirements in order to register it in the USA.

It is called a grey market car. The car will be worthless. It will not comply with USA safety and emissions standards. You are NOT allowed to drive this car on any road, nor can you even sell it.
