What do you mean when you say that dreams lack meaning?
When dreams are discussed here I often see answers state that dreams are merely images experienced through the day, and are therefore without meaning.
But whenever I've heard a dream related, it's in narrative form.
Is it your position that the narrative is not part of the dream, or that the narrative has no meaning?
First answer: you did not read my question.
Juan, I certainly have never suggested that a dream is a "sign." Juan, take the time to read the question before you answer.
If I were to see images from throughout the day, completely at random, I could see why the dream would not indicate anything about my thoughts. But once I have to recall the dream, wouldn't I modify my memory of those image (as we do with all memories), and structure a narrative around the images, both of which adding meaning to the otherwise random images?

Jack, I find it hard to believe that my grammar is the problem. Yes, I stated that "whenever I've heard a dream related, it's in narrative form" and followed that up with the question "is it your position that the narrative is not part of the dream"? I am asking whether people who say that a dream is without meaning consider the narrative to not be part of the dream, but to be added when reflecting upon the dream.
Jack, you do realize that when I relate a dream I am speaking it to you, and therefore I am providing some structure to it apart from the dream as I actually experienced it, don't you? Let me put it in simple terms for you: there is a difference between having a dream and discussing a dream.
PS -- let's both go back to high school. I'll brush up on my English, and you try to lose your virginity.
First answer, again: I can find significance in a dream and not believe that it really happened. There is meaning in fiction. So I do not believe that you addressed my question.

Do you even know what you are trying to ask? Your shocking grammar has confused the sh*t out of me. You said 'But whenever I've heard a dream related, it's in narrative form' then you said 'Is it your position that the narrative is not part of the dream'. So what are you asking? First you have said when you hear dreams related they are narrated then you have asked a question wanting to know if the narrative is not part of the dream, your the one who stated it is, no one else has, are you schizo arguing with yourself or something? Also you said 'dreams are merely images experienced through the day, and are therefore without meaning' ok this is kind of an understandable statement, then you said 'But whenever I've heard a dream related, it's in narrative form', of what significance is this statement to the first one? What on earth does the method of delivery of explanation of a dream have to do with your previous statement which pertains to the validity of dreams in relation to real world situations. I think you need to go back and redo high school english class.

A dream is built upon a myriad of RFI (residual flux images).
The above images are small short segments of a visual presentation noted during our awaken hours.
Example: a picture in a magazine that we quickly paged through, the latter is not limited to pictures.
During our sleeping hours the mind will begin to wander and assemble a myriad of the latter images while trying to seamlessly integrate all the information.
The result is nothing short of a potpourri of slapped together, half-azzed, budget cut theatrical circus events.
Dreams have very little meaning nor do they provide any measure of merit unless the dream is a Revelation that would require much more insight.

Dream control is the intent that you will become aware when you are dreaming and that you will actively engage in your own dream time and no longer just be a passive witness to it.
Imagine the Astral realm as the ocean.
Dream is the sandy beach and lucid dreaming is like walking barefoot in the tide.
Lucid dreaming, for most, is the most practical doorway into the astral world and second to that is the best way to become aware of how much control you can have of the circumstances of your life and how you can pursue the depth of the "rabbit hole" on purpose and with better information retention.
Lucid Dreaming takes you from out the of back seat and puts your behind the wheel of your own life.
Actively dreaming lets you rehearse all sorts of life situations and practice skills, talents and circumstances in very real ways while programming these skills deeper into your subconscious.
This process also helps you see the REAL you and reveals your deepest most intimate desires, wants, dreams and ambitions, which could seem scary if not even guilty at first, but once you understand the nature and power behind these realization, the fear and guilt fades and the strength that comes from truth, clarity and self acceptance shines through....READ MORE!

Dreams are very important to those who have the privilege of being aware of them.
If they had no importance then why would some one wake up poorly from a bad dream or feel great after a blissful one.
They can also be no verbal conversation between you and You. Sometimes with directions and sometimes not.
There is an honor in all dreams, even the bad ones. Not all are permitted to recall such things.
Ok, that just my 2 cents worth on your dreaming question.
Row, row, row your boat
gently down the stream.
Merrily, merrily, merrily merrily,
Life is but a dream.

I tend to agree with the first respondant. Dreams are just that dreams. Mostly, there is little or no meaning in them. I don't have a narrative in my dreams. I have very vivid dreams about people I could swear I have never seen or met.

dreams seem to be a combination of real and imagined elements put together in odd ways by the subconscious. It almost seems as if the brain tries to make sense of insensible combinations of memories and fanciful thoughts.
But the idea that some great meaning can be gleaned from them seems to be wishful thinking.

dreams have meaning. It is more likely your subconscious trying to work out situations of your everyday life. For some reason dreams like to work out through metaphors. If you are interested in such subjects then try this website
but take it with a grain of salt. Only you are capable of determining your dreams correctly.
There are also many more debates for why dreams occur but I lack motivation to discuss
- Anonymous9 years ago
Dreams occur because you are trying to live something that your subconscious wants. That's why if you have a crush on someone, they may appear in your dream.
Again,
It's not a sign.

dreams are dreams, and that's all they are.

If you were referring to me? Yes, I did, and my answer is valid.

"I can find significance in a dream and not believe that it really happened."
So? What's your point?
If your point is (as this is R&S) that you can "find meaning in God and not believe that it really happened" then, good for you.
