In glucometer, capillary blood is used for measuring blood glucose levels. But in the laboratory, venous blood is used instead. So the measurements in the glucometer is slightly high.
Daily checking of blood sugar alerts the diabetic patients to control the same and avoid diabetic complications. I use Accu-Chek Active blood glucose monitor daily.

Almost all branded glucose meters are accurate like accu chek active, one touch glucose meters, bayer contour ts and omron. But their strips costs differently. You must look at the cost of strips not the glucose meter because buying a glucose meter is one time cost but strips are to be bought regularly.
You can go with either Accu chek active glucose meter or one touch select simple they both are branded and cost very less.
You can try some here: http://www.buydirekt.com/ this is where i make my purchase in india.
