what is a good homemade remedy for constipation?

i dont like taking drugs, but i also have a hard time going. i already take 4000 mg of flaxseed every day and 2000mg of cod oil vitamin. is there anything else i can try.

    All fruit and vegetables in very large amounts are laxative.

    You need to permanently change your diet or you are likely to get colon cancer.

    Constipation can make you extremely unwell and can lead to colon cancer as it causes a build up of carcinogenic toxins in the system.

    Perhaps red meat is the culprit as in http://au.search.yahoo.com/search?p=%22red+meat%22... as it can take up to 3 days to go through the system.

    The intake of foods such as milk, cheese, white rice, white flour and red meat should be restricted, because they tend to contribute to constipation.

    Any food that has had the fiber stripped out, the nutrients processed out or slows down the digestion is a constipation culprit. Here's a list of foods shown to cause constipation problems:

    •Meats, especially fatty meats, red meat and processed meats,

    •Dairy Products, such as cheese, ice cream and whole milk,

    •Fast Foods – burgers, French fries and other fried foods, pizza, etc.,

    •Refined grains, like white rice or any refined white flour products,

    •Highly starchy foods – white potatoes, corn and all refined grains,

    •Pastries and other high sugar products, such as cakes, cookies and pies,

    •Deep-fried foods, chips and other foods that are high in bad fats.

    Very high doses of vitamin C. I'm talking 1000mg every 2 hours until you go. I know this seems high, but is perfectly safe.

    250-500mg of Magnesium. (supplement, pill) The ingredient in milk of magnesium that tastes awful.

    2 glasses of warm water followed by 2-3 cups of coffee first thing in the morning.

    High fiber diet.

    You can give yourself a rub down in castor oil. It will absorb in about an hour. Then you can go to the bath room then shower. This would be my last option.

    Eat 4 to 5 pitted prunes per day or drink a small glass of prune juice daily. If you don't see the results you want by 3 to 5 days, increase your daily intake. Also, eat 1 or 2 bran muffins a day for 3 to 5 days and you should see a vast improvement.

    The "folk remedy" I know best is the soap-sliver suppository. (Self explanatory - use only ivory or glycerin soaps for the purpose, nothing with artificial perfumes etc).

    I eat a chocolate cookie and drink a bit of some caffeinated soda. seems to work for me.

    eat more fiber...like all bran and grape nut

    make a meal with 25 grams of fiber that should do it
