So is Gandhi, a Hindu, who brought his country freedom using peace, in Hell? Or can he be saved by his good works?

The answer to that question is SOLELY up to God; but NO ONE is saved by "good works."

Isaiah 64:6 But we are all as an unclean thing, and all our righteousnesses are as filthy rags; and we all do fade as a leaf; and our iniquities, like the wind, have taken us away.

Jesus dint come to earth to say that he had paid for all ur sins and all u need to do is to just believe in him to get to heaven. He got here to earth to evangelise ppl the best way to are living. He taught ppl to love, to be forgiving, to be beneficiant , not to raise anger at their heart., and essential to not be judgmental (pertinent to this question ) and soo many extra matters. The essence of Jesus's teachings was to the way to are living a existence and no longer simply to feel in him. Though not a Christ believer, Gandhi was once a ideal eg. Of a person who followed Jesus's teachings. He lived as an eg. And confirmed the sector, how love works. He was no baby-kisser, or a devout preacher yet a person who had moved a nation, a person who shook the british empire, anybody who motivated the arena. He confirmed in recent times what non violence and love is in a position of doing. You dont ought to be a Christian or a jesus believer to move to heaven. Its what you are and what you do.. I'm definite Jesus would were comfortable with what Gandhi confirmed the sector. Nobody has been a greater eg. Of his own teachings than gandhi in latest instances. I feel Gandhi will have to be in heaven. Once more its up to god. :)

Paul wrote in Ephesians 2:8-9: For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith – and this not from yourselves, it is the gift of God – not by works, so that no one can boast.

When a crowd of people asked Jesus, “What must we do to do the works God requires?”

Jesus answered, “The work of God is this: to believe in the one he has sent.”

This would have been the perfect opportunity for Jesus to add a whole laundry list of other requirements. He did not. Just believe your in heart Jesus is who He says He is and will do what He says He'll do.

Where is Gandhi now? I can't tell you. I don't know the condition of his heart the moment he died. Only God knows that. But why are you so concerned about Gandhi? What's the condition of your own heart? Jesus is coming soon for His church. And trust me, you don't want to be left behind. The world will never be the same after that. It's going to get real ugly and fast.

Do you believe you're a sinner?  Do you believe you are hopelessly lost without a savior?  Do you believe God sent His son to die for your sins? Will you accept His death as payment in full for your sins?

Gandhi said "I would be a Christian, if I could find one."

You cant work your way to heaven so it is prison until their court case is heard when all will be judged before the Maker of the Universe

God is a spirit and anyone that worships Him must worship him in Spirit, Ephesians 2:1-10 tells us that because of sin (crimes against God read the Ten Commandments), and if you are guilty of breaking one of God’s laws you are guilty of the whole thing. We are born spiritually dead so how to be worship God in spirit if we are spiritually dead. In John 3: 3-8 Jesus tells us how we must bring our spirits back to life.

Point is that Gandhi wasn’t for Jesus; Jesus said that if you are not for me then you are against me. It is only through Jesus Christ that salvation is possible.

Heaven. Anyone who loves the presence of God over all things in life, is saved. They love Jesus, they just don't know it. This applies to people born before Jesus too, since as Jesus himself said: "Before Abraham ever was, I AM" This doesn't make Jesus's message irrelavant but more relevant, since instead of being a knife at your throat....it is the truth. Let hell be filled with people who actually DESERVE to stare at their own reflections for all eternity, not people like Ghandi, for God's sake.

Christians who say you must be "christian" to be saved are just a very vocal minority. Very vocal. It figures too. They aren't trying to have a simple discussion on what the truth is, they are trying to "save" you.

The "you must be 'christian' to be saved" thing makes my SKIN CRAWL.

hmm... strange how nearly everyone's avoiding the question. I assume you mean: Christians, do you think Gandhi is in Hell?

now its a matter of opinion, they can't use the same excuse they have been using so far.

so in other words all these christians are saying that it is up to god, so wouldn't it be up to god to decide whether an atheist would go to hell or not, not whether the atheist believes in him. Is it not our actions which define us not who or what we are. Wouldn't god know that and being merciful as he is forgive us for our disbelief if we have shown true benevolence. Since in the end it is up to god then why with all the hell threats and dogmatic views and anti gay rallies, isn't it up to god, not the christians on who actually goes to hell.

What a fantastic question, in Christianity the virtues are Being nice Patience ect. I think that believing in God or not doesn't change the person you are. Heaven imo
