Things to teach/do with a horse to increase value?

I like to buy horses to sell on. I break them in, hack out, go the beach, cross country, one or two shows. Il pull the mane, bath and trim them up, then sell. Is there anything else I could do to add value, that wouldn't take too much time or money? Any ideas welcome!

Ground manners are a huge asset for a horse. Make sure any horse you go to sell will stand quietly in the cross ties, load politely onto a trailer, stand for the vet and farrier, accept the clippers, and move easily on a lead. You should be able to touch their ears, open their mouth, pick up their feet, and touch their bellies and flanks. Simple stuff like that can really increase the value of a horse.

I would say go to a horse show series where the end prize is a buckle, or some champion ribbon. People love to buy a horse that won champion at a series. Or some shows have a daily high point which would also look good if won.

Also everyone wants a horse that can stop with a voice command. Maybe also be able to be ridden in a halter or bridleless.

Get them looking good and shiny and well muscled. The more shows you can go to (and win) The higher the value will be.
