how to divide 21 and 11/16" by 2?

divde 21 11/16" (of an inch) by 2. like if you pulled a tape measure on a piece of wood and it was 21 11/16",how would you divide it by 2? please show a step by step process if possible

Update:

the answer i got is 10 7/16". half of 21 is 10 and half of 11/16" is 7/16". i got half of 11/16 by dividing its metric equivelant but dont know how to acutally solve the problem.

    21 11/16 divided by 2 get the 21 into the numerator

    21* 16 = 336

    (336+11)/16

    347/16 times denominator by 2

    347/32 simplify

    10 and (27/32)

    21 11/16" / 2

    ( 20 + 1 + 11/16 ) /2

    = ( 20 + 16/16 + 11/16) /2

    = (20 + 27/16) / 2

    = 10 + 27/32

    = 10 27/32"
