What substance can be added to automotive body filler that is stiff to work.?

The remaining portion of a tin of bog is 'hard to work' and I want to free it up a bit

    Its called honeycoat. Its an additive that can be added to filler to help it spread on smoother and eliminate pinholes. Just watch how much you add because it is a resin and makes the filler harder to sand.

    Barnaby is right.

    Once it's gone off and is hard to work it will have lost most of it's adhesive quality. Even if you get it to stick where you want it to, it won't stick there for long.

    Old filler has gone " Off " it is usless .
