    What discipline do you ride?

No, not too small, but it depends upon what you wish to do with her. If you're not showing USET H/J circuit, you should be just fine. But if you are, understand everyone else is going to be on something over 16hh unless they're in the pony division. Well, there are exceptions and location dictates as well..

But honestly, I'm 5'2 1/2" and my horse is 15.1hh. I enjoy riding smaller ones and we fit eachother well. Granted, Doc is a big mover, but he fits my leg and upper body. We get compliments all the time.

I dont think so. I am 5'3 and ride horses between 14'3 and 15 hands. Alot has to do with how they are built. If they are string beans then riding them is like straddling a fence and you may look to tall but if they have some substance and width to them, you can be sitting on a 14 hand horse and at your height it would not look bad at all.

Your horse isn't too small for you at all:)

She is probably a good size.

I am 18 and I'm 5"3-5"4 and have ponies which are 13.2hh (I'm quite big on her now but she is capable of carrying me) and my pony is 14hh but is a stocky cob she manages fine with my height and we have a 14.2hh mare which I find she is the best sized horse we have for my own personal choice.

Many people ride smaller horses and they do just fine:) enjoy your horse!

no what is everyones issues with horses under 17 hands and being too big for them.. im 6 foot 230 pounds and I ride a 15.1 horse he looks just fine under me.. I rode a 14.2 in lessons, and I even put miles on a 13.2 poa... they all carried me fine.. the 13.2 I wouldnt choose as a personal mount but he never once showed any signs of me overloading him.. in europe people ride the stocky native ponies, most are under 15 hands, but can carry a person my size all day long

Not at all. I am 15, 5'1 tall an on the odd occasion ride an 11 hand pony. It really depends on the breed of horse/pony and your weight. But that height is perfect for you I'd say.
