Waived - 60 Day Employer Notification of major layoff?

Now the estimated 200,000 people that may be layed off in the Washington DC metro area will NOT get notification 60 days in advance. Thanks Obama!

As the government doesn't build or manufacture, these will be non-government jobs. Any thoughts on how this will impact the economy? How do you feel this will impact the country? Does anyone have the national estimates for the pending layoffs?

In 2007, then-Senator Obama proposed increasing the 60-day layoff notification to 90 days. However, now he doesn't want a lot of pink slips going out right before the election, so he waives the notification. What a hypocrite!
