What lesson can you teach to provide evidence for T3 compare oral version with the written version of the text?

I need to find something to evidence that my year 1's are able to notice the difference between spoken forms, re-telling known stories; compare oral versions with the written text.

I tried to discuss this with my class today but we found it tricky, other than the fact that one is written and one isn't.

So Q1: what are the differences? (that children would understand)

Q2: What activity can I do to evidence their understanding on this?

    old kids game: phone. one child whispers something read from a card to the next. the second child whispers it remembered - as it passes it changes until it is compeletly different. Use it as an analogy.
