Christians, if your child didn't love you would you lock them in the basement and torture them forever?
That's essentially your God.
You're not God? Okay...so you're a decent person and your God is an asshole.

Well, it's fine if you gave them the "choice" to love you. Then you can torture them if they don't.
And let's not forget doing that forever because of something they did when they were babies.

The Catholic understanding is that God does not throw people into Hell; people put themselves there because they fully reject God, Heaven, and eternal happiness. A complete separation from God is like torture, because without God there is no light or joy. God will not force you to be happy and live in Heaven, so if you choose to reject it and walk towards Hell instead, then there is nothing He can do to stop you. You use a parent/child analogy, so let's look at it more closely:
You have an older child. You love this child with all your heart, and you want him to be happy and safe with you. And like any parent, you have some rules and guidelines for the child to follow---not because you love being boss, but because there are certain ways of behaving that will bring peace to everyone involved---such as don't hurt others, have consideration for the people around you, etc... However, your child starts to think he doesn't need you and doesn't care about your rules. He begins to break them all, and when you try to reason with him, he laughs in your face. You tell him that you still love him, no matter what, but he needs to apologize and try to be better if there's ever going to be any peace. He refuses. He thinks his ways are better than yours, and he's not sorry. You are crushed, and feel your love thrown back in your face. All you want is for him to be happy and safe, but he decides that he wants to leave. You don't stop him, because love does not restrain and force a person against his will, so he leaves and ends up on the streets, doing drugs, and pretty much living a miserable existence.
This is close to the Catholic understanding of what happens between God and His children who choose Hell over Heaven. I hope that explains it a little better.

Of course! That's real dumbass Christian parenting (which is obviously the only right because everyone that's not a Christian and doesn't implement Christian ideals are wrong). I mean, if you're child said "Mom" or "Dad" in vein, wouldn't you condemn them to an eternity of torture and unimaginable pain? If you haven't realized by now, I'm being sarcastic. These kind of hardcore Christians are the reason why I lose faith in humanity as a whole and contemplate going outside and *****-slapping everyone who has this mindset.

You don't go to hell because of God, you go to hell because of the devil. So no. If I was a 'god-like' person, I would accept the child that didn't love me. On the other side, if I was a 'devil-like' person, I probably would, because, well, im everything that is evil on earth. You can't have one without the other<=== im guessing you don't understand that??

Ah, but that's different, because it's GOD doing it, not us lowly humans, and God is always right, even in cases like this. You see, if we assume God is loving and always right, then it's undebatable fact that God's actions are always loving and right. Just don't question why an assumption is a good basis for "absolute fact", I'll ignore it.
Also, Satan is evil for disagreeing with God's violent methods. Violence is evil, so we'll never use it. Satan is evil for going against evil. We're good for going against evil (Satan).

What a disgusting pathetic question, you think we Christians are unfit parents; what I would do is take my children to the edge of the city and stone them to death.
