What was family life like in America in the 1960's?
I'm writing a story at the moment and its set in the mid 60's in New York. This is also an upper class family. Before I write this story though I want to research as much as I can on what America was like at the time in that era (specially family life). If you could give me some information or links to websites it'd be much appreciated.

The most violent movies were westerns, most TVs were black and white and there were maybe only five channels. You never heard a cuss word on TV. Kids back then thought that for sure by the year 2012 we would already be exploring the far reaches of the galaxy like on Star Trek. Kids actually spent most of their time playing outdoors not on video games or computers. The cars back then were totally bad azz!!
