constant illness in toddler (asthma related?)?

hi, im a bit at my wits end pulling my hair out, want to see if anyone has any insight for me before i go crazy!!

my 21 month old has been on a preventative inhaler for (suspected) asthma since she was 8 months old. she had chest xrays etc( but apparently is hard to diagnose but has symptoms indicating she has it.) ANYWAY, she has her puffer 2x daily, she has also had constant ear infections and URTI's since 5months + grommets finally got put in at 12months, and she was quite good for about 5 months, but since may (grommets are still in) but again ear infections flared back up, and just horrible congestion, coughing - a cough which sounds chesty/wet, we have about a week relief to 3 - 4 weeks of this being unwell. she gets so blocked up that it weeps out of her ears (so gromets doing their job) and her eyes its horrible. everytime at doctors its the same thing, "no temperature, chest sounds ok, its a virus, give her panadol and fluids. rest" ... there is only so much panadol you can give a child its ridiculous. i know its that time of year (aus) and she does go to daycare, but she seems to have zero immune system!!! i have booked an appt with her pediatrician but its a little wait for him, these GP's are driving me up the wall we havent slept a decent night in i dont remember how long its so unfair on her to always be sick!!! :(

anyone have any insight for me... should i be asking for more testing ... if so what..? i know kids get sick but i work in childcare and none of our children get this sick this often.

thanks for any help.

well my son was sick all the time and every month we was getting him a prescription. we couldnt get him better. my ped never did much, just got him in and prescript and out. i changed doctors and she gave him a breathing machine with polmicourt medicine and he did breathing treatments every night for about a month and that was it. hes no longer sick and constantly needing presctiption. if your not happy with the results, try a diffent peditrition. ask around who the best is. i have to drive a hour away for my sons doctor, but she is way worth it.

I had a similar problem with my first child, and am gonig through that now with my second, who is 3.

My oldest developed a chronic cough at 10 months to the point where she was vomiting, not sleeping and could only eat baby food because she choked on anything else. She had RSV, she had bronchiolitis, and several viruses. We were referred to a pediatrcian who tested her for all kinds of things, which came back negative, and then continued to insist it was "just a virus". After 5 months of this, we went to a different pediatrician who diagnosed her with and treated her for asthma. She was better in a month. Then the ear infections started and she had her first set of tubes put in at 18 months and the second at 3. She is 5 and still sees an ENT for her ears and has regular hearing tests. The tubes have fallen out. She seems to have outgrown her asthma for the most part, and only takes inhalers when she gets a bad cold, which usually triggers a mild flare-up.

My 3 year old developed a chronic cough at 2. Before that, she had bronchitis twice and double pneumonia at 6 months. Last October, she started coughing endlessly and we took her to the doctor several times over the past year. Our pediatrician (different pediatrician) keeps insisting it's a virus, and wouldn't prescribe singulair. I took her to our famly doctor in the spring and she prescribed singulair which has helped her immensely. However, she still gets the cough and has a horrible cough right now. I am taking her to the doctor today. I suspect she also has asthma.

When my oldest was a baby, I took a month of unpaid leave because she was sick so much. Thankfully, I have an understanding employer and lots of sick days, and so does my husband.

My brother is an asthmatic and after ten years his asthma has shown no sign of improving. He has been to several doctors but they didn't help much.

If you want a proven, all-natural way to cure your asthma, without having to pay for useless medications with harmful side-effects, then this is the most important page you'll ever read.

develop into he examined for a mould or airborne dirt and mud hypersensitivity? My daughter develop into clinically determined with seasonal allergies at 3 to boot. I bumped off the miniblinds from her room and adjusted them with curtains, which would be washed in many circumstances. We already had hardwood flooring so we did no longer could concern approximately yanking the carpet out of her room. All of her crammed animals that would no longer be washed have been bagged whilst she develop into having flare-united statesand that i vacuumed purely whilst she develop into away. All of this appeared to help her whilst she develop into companies to assaults besides the undeniable fact that it did no longer forestall all of them. If airborne dirt and mud or mould is the wrongdoer, he might nonetheless have assaults on holiday as maximum inns are carpeted & filthy. Did his ordinary practitioner say that he would outgrow his allergies? After 4 depressing winters, my daughter finally went an entire 365 days with out one attack. sturdy success!
