toddler with chronic seperation anxiety please help?
my daughter has just turned two and for the last two weeks she has been an absolute nightmare. she has always been more attatched to me but would go to daycare happily etc (where i work - im in the same building!) but now i can litterally not go to the toilet at home or take the bins out with her having a major meltdown if she cant see me. its getting ridiculous shes throwing mega tantrums and wont even go to her dad if she knows im going somewhere without her. im losing my sanity really fast... i know its probably just a phase but what can i do!?!?!?!
4 AnswersToddler & Preschooler8 years agoneed some opinions please?
hey, this is a repost because i got no response previously :( just wanting some advice please!
Is there anyone who has gotten pregnant from precum?? a pregnancy wouldnt be a problem for my fiancee and i we already have a 2 year old, im just really puzzled.
My period was due last sunday, so a full week ago, my LMP was 12th Nov, so i would expect that i ovulated 25/26th Nov, I dont use any other contraception, (i just been very aware of my dates/ovulation etc its worked so far since having my daughter) anyway he never ever ejaculates in me just in case, and this month was no different, i know precum is only suposed to be impregnating if he goes twice without weeing inbetween, which we did within 3 hours on the 1st dec... so i should have been well and truly past ovulation, but thats the only day it could of been if it has happened...ive had a few cramps and felt like period was coming but it just hasnt!!
I know i need to take a test...i plan on it in the next couple of days if my period doesnt come, but whats everyone opinion on my situation? i just really dont think its possible??
thanks :)

4 AnswersToddler & Preschooler9 years agodaughter got water in ears (has grommets)?
hi, my daughter was sitting in the tub while i was showering (our shower is over our bath) and as i was washing shampoo out (because my head was under water and eyes shut) i didnt realise she went to stand up not on the slip mat and she fell under the water it was only a second pr two and i pulled her up.. her face was still above the water but her ears were both fully submerged.
i know she shouldnt get water in her ears because of her grommets but i havent actually been told why its bad or what it can do? (when i am washing her hair etc i use the putty but shes not a fan of it so i only use it when im washing her hair a few times a week)
so does any one know what this can do and if you think i should be concerned/see our gp?? she seems fine shes not rubbing them or anything or complaining.
thanks
1 AnswerToddler & Preschooler9 years agoconstant illness in toddler (asthma related?)?
hi, im a bit at my wits end pulling my hair out, want to see if anyone has any insight for me before i go crazy!!
my 21 month old has been on a preventative inhaler for (suspected) asthma since she was 8 months old. she had chest xrays etc( but apparently is hard to diagnose but has symptoms indicating she has it.) ANYWAY, she has her puffer 2x daily, she has also had constant ear infections and URTI's since 5months + grommets finally got put in at 12months, and she was quite good for about 5 months, but since may (grommets are still in) but again ear infections flared back up, and just horrible congestion, coughing - a cough which sounds chesty/wet, we have about a week relief to 3 - 4 weeks of this being unwell. she gets so blocked up that it weeps out of her ears (so gromets doing their job) and her eyes its horrible. everytime at doctors its the same thing, "no temperature, chest sounds ok, its a virus, give her panadol and fluids. rest" ... there is only so much panadol you can give a child its ridiculous. i know its that time of year (aus) and she does go to daycare, but she seems to have zero immune system!!! i have booked an appt with her pediatrician but its a little wait for him, these GP's are driving me up the wall we havent slept a decent night in i dont remember how long its so unfair on her to always be sick!!! :(
anyone have any insight for me... should i be asking for more testing ... if so what..? i know kids get sick but i work in childcare and none of our children get this sick this often.
thanks for any help.

3 AnswersLanguages9 years agodoes my 16 month old "need" milk?
i am asking this because she was obsessively attatched to her bottle at night and was waking alot because itd fall out of her mouth etc (id only leave water in it over night so the milk didnt rot her teeth) so i threw the bottles in the bin because it was getting a bit much waking 10 times a night to put her bottle back in her mouth, i have been offering milk in a sippy morning and before bed, but she wont take it from a sippy. ive tried all different types and she just isnt interested.
so back to my question, does she NEED the milk?? she eats alot of yoghurt and cheese so does still get calcium.
thanks for any help :)
9 AnswersToddler & Preschooler9 years agotips on getting my 1 yr old off bottle?!?
My daughter is 13 mnths and i have her on cows milk now instead of formula. she taken to it fine. ive been trying to get her onto a sippy cup for her milk since i started her on cows milk over a month ago. she is not interested at all as she begun using her bottle as a comforter around 9mnths (id only let her take it to bed with water to save her teeth) and ive probably spent over a hundred dollars on all types of sippy cups with straws teets pop tops u name it .. and she wont have a bar of it. shell only take her millk from a bottle and i havent had the willpower (or patience at night) to just throw her bottles in the bin with an "if u really want it ull drink it" attitude because she just screams and screams until she gets it in a bottle.
any suggestions for my stubborn girl??? :)

8 AnswersToddler & Preschooler9 years ago2004 Ford Territory Ball Joint Recalls?
Hi im wondering if anyone can tell me if there was an official recall on 2004 ford territorys in australia *im in WA* for the ball joints? i have an AWD model, i have been told the recall is "voluntary" (and thats what it says all over google) but that Ford is fixing the problems free of charge - so clearly they are acknowleging the problem?
Mine has collapsed, it did it whilst my fiance was driving it and the whole front end of the car just dropped almost to the floor on one side and the wheel just a bout fell off. My insurance company is investigating our claim but apparently it could be a "maintainance issue" which arent covered, so im wondering if that is the case, will i have any ground to stand in pressing Ford to pay it/fix it and the damage it caused to the wheel and front side panel etc??
thanks if you can shread any light for me!!!
3 AnswersFord9 years agodoes it sound like my baby could be allergic to our new puppy?
hi we got a staffy x puppy last night hes 8 wks old and this morning he was on our bed and so was our 10 month old, she didnt really touch him last night because she went to bed not long after we picked him up. but this morning she was touching his nose and his ears and almost straight away she started to sneeze and rub her eyes and breath a bit funny. i stood up with her and walked in a different room and she stopped. she hasnt really touched him since because shes still not too sure about him.
does this sound like an allergy/reaction to him or could it be something else? the way her breathing sounded scared me a bit
thanks
2 AnswersNewborn & Baby10 years agocrawler-proofing my house?
hi i think ive covered most of the basic stuff but id just like some input on things to make my house safe for my daughter whos just started crawling and cruising. ive already done the draw & cupboard clips and corner rubbers etc.. and a gate across my kitchen (cos theres no door).. chemicals are all up high in laundry..

(i am never far from her anyway but as they say - only takes a second of having your back turned) so i just wanna make sure ive got everything covered.
2 AnswersNewborn & Baby10 years agoquestion about burst eardrum in my baby?
my daughters ear drum burst early this morning and the doctor told me not to wipe IN the ear to get the gunk, but rather let it weep out of the ear and wipe it off... but now (sorry sounds gross) its gone all dry and crusty around the opening to her ear and in the little cup bit that runs into the lobe.. is it ok to wipe in the ear to get the crusties out? or do i have to wait til it heals - if so does anyone know how long this takes?

8 AnswersNewborn & Baby10 years ago9 month old randomly keeps vomitting?
my daughter first started vomitting last tuesday night, like massive projectiles. no meal stayed down until lunch time weds and i took her to doctors - they said viral tummy bug fluids rest etc. she came good by that weds night, kept down dinner, bottles and breakfast thurs then thurs lunch came back again. she has be totally fine since, until tonight, dinner came up is massive massive amounts and is very projectile. she doesnt have a fever, her poos are pretty normal, shes eaten it all before and been fine so im starting to get a little worried because its happening randomly with her being okay in between plus no fever etc.
any ideas what it could be?
i plan on calling her doc tomorrow for an appt.
thanks for any ideas
5 AnswersNewborn & Baby10 years agoshould i be concerned that my 9 month old wont roll tummy to back?
i know she CAN do it, because she first did it when she was 3mnths old and did it every so often til about 5mnths, but since then, she will not do it. she can be on her tummy and screaming for over an hour (longest ive left her to see if she would just do it!!) i dont know if its lazy, or shes forgotten how to or if there is actually a problem. ive tried several times helping her roll and putting her arms fwd and rolled her to show her how to... she just is not interested. she goes back to front no worries, and can sit and pull her self to stand. (also refuses to crawl... because anytime i do put her on her tummy all she does is scream!)
It hasnt really bothered me until nowv coz shes happy enough, but lately shes rolling onto her tummy in her sleep then waking and screaming and i have to go in there to roll her back because she cant/wont do it herself. ive tried leaving her to make her figure it out but she gets so worked up that she forgets how to breathe properly. shes waking 4+ times a night because of it.
any advice is greatly appreciated!!!!!!! thanks
4 AnswersNewborn & Baby10 years ago8 month old becoming worse and worse at night?
hi
my 8 month old has only slept through the night a handful of times, she only wakes up once or twice on an average night. but lately she seems to be getting worse, shes waking more, for longer periods of time, but she doesnt actually seem to want anything. i never pick her up at night, i havent since i stopped breast feeding months ago. sometimes she'll have a bottle, sometimes she wont. half the time i go in there when shes screaming and she hasnt even lost her dummy, i just walk in there put my hand on her tummy for a moment and walk out and 8/10 she goes off back to sleep! ive tried ignoring her, but my partner gets up early for work and i dont like to disturb him if i dont have to during the week. (and her screaming through the monitor tends to wake him). shes broken a few teeth lately but she doesnt seem to have any more coming through now and she still hasnt settled back down. im starting to go a bit crazy so just wondering if anyone has any tips for me to try!?!?!
getting to the point where ill try anything!!!! thanks
3 AnswersNewborn & Baby10 years agofiance going to work away..?
hi
im looking for some comfort i guess :) from any women out there who are/have been in my situation.
we have an 8 month old and my partner has just been given a job in the mines on a two weeks on two weeks off roster. its great money and a great oppurtunity, so i wouldnt stop him from doing it. and i know two weeks isnt really a long time, but ive never really lived alone, and im just freaking out a little bit. ive never liked being by myself at night, i know ill have my baby, but i feel protected and safe with my man here! i want to feel strong for our daughter, i want her to feel secure and safe... but i dont even feel secure!!
so im wondering, if anyone else has this living arangement, how long did it take you to get used to it, am i just worried about nothing, and do u have any helpful hints for getting used to it a bit faster and not listening for every little noise at night!?!
(i know some women lose their hubbys for months / a yr at a time in the army etc, i take my hat off to you because i could never do it - so sorry if i do sound a little pathetic moaning about 2 weeks at a time but like i say, its something ive never had to experience!)
:) xx
