My son is 3 and I'm 17 weeks pregnant with my second (He'll be 3 1/2ish when the new one arrives). I wanted to wait until my son was at least two (took us longer to get pregnant than we wanted). This age is good for us as my son is potty trained (except at night), pretty independent and is able to better concept the whole new baby thing. I think anywhere between 2-4 years is an average gap between children and works really well.
I'm more exhausted with this pregnancy than I was with my first, my enhanced sense of smell (I've always had a good sniffer :D) makes things like changing his diaper in the morning, making him healthy meals (nothing smells good to me) etc...makes things harder. But I keep telling myself its only for nine months...its not forever! I do have a lack of patience, being tired/fatigue the cause of most of it and dealing with severe tailbone pain that limits what I can do right now, but I'm excited and can't wait until my little man holds his new baby brother/sister for the first time!

Our son was 18 months old when we found out we were expecting our second baby :) he's now almost 22 months old and I am 5 months pregnant.
To be honest we were planning on waiting until our son was at least 3 to have another one, but we're thrilled none-the-less. We're moving him to his own room next month and have started potty training, hopefully that will all be done by the time baby is here so it'll be one less thing to worry about :)
I'm a bit concerned about having a newborn and a little man going through the terrible two's at the same time, but I think we'll manage ok. To be honest, its very tiring being pregnant with a Toddler. But I also work full-time at night and then watch him during the day. It was tiring before I fell pregnant lol but now its even more so.
We're making sure our little man understands that we're expecting a bubba and he's very excited. He loves babies, I think he'll find it hard at first because he's mummy's little boy but once he gets used to having a little sibling I think he'll be a very loving big brother.
After we have this next one we're adament we're not having another one until they've both started school hehe, two little handfuls will be quite enough until then :)

I think its great to have kids closer together, all 5 of my boys a roughly around 2yrs apart and all get along great. They all have a friend in the one they r closer to age with. I think being pregnant with a toddler isn't much different then being pregnant without an toddler. Just get enough sleep, and try to be on a schedule and have your toddler ready for the new little one make it a big part of there life before hand. I hope I have helped a little.

I found out I was pregnant with my son when my daughter was six months old. We didn't plan it that way, but birth control fails sometimes. They were born 15 months apart. It was a challenge because I had a toddler and a newborn, but I had lots of help. it was expensive having to buy an extra set of diapers, but it all worked out. Now she's 3, and he'll be 2 next month and they're the best of friends and very close.

I have three kids and theres 20 months between each of them. they all get along for the most part but also have their fights like all siblings do. my oldest sister in law has 2 daughters with 3 years betwee them and all they do is fight, theres not one minute of getting along between them. my other sister in law has a 2 1/2 year old daughter and she doesnt share well, so i know she shouldnt have any kids anytime soon with her daughter acting like that, and i think the longer you wait, the harder it will be bc she will be so use to being an only child. being pregnant and chasing a toddler wasnt that bad, plus i worked at all different times of the day but i wouldnt change it bc of the relationship they have now.
