8 month old becoming worse and worse at night?

hi

my 8 month old has only slept through the night a handful of times, she only wakes up once or twice on an average night. but lately she seems to be getting worse, shes waking more, for longer periods of time, but she doesnt actually seem to want anything. i never pick her up at night, i havent since i stopped breast feeding months ago. sometimes she'll have a bottle, sometimes she wont. half the time i go in there when shes screaming and she hasnt even lost her dummy, i just walk in there put my hand on her tummy for a moment and walk out and 8/10 she goes off back to sleep! ive tried ignoring her, but my partner gets up early for work and i dont like to disturb him if i dont have to during the week. (and her screaming through the monitor tends to wake him). shes broken a few teeth lately but she doesnt seem to have any more coming through now and she still hasnt settled back down. im starting to go a bit crazy so just wondering if anyone has any tips for me to try!?!?!

getting to the point where ill try anything!!!! thanks

when she wakes up in the middle of the night, ignore her and try to go back to sleep. they will soon eventually fall back to sleep after 5-10 minutes. keep on doing this for a while. after 1-2 weeks and it doesn't work move her crib into your room, and she will know that her parents are near her and wont be frightened of the dark when she wakes up or what other reasons.

you should get her some dolls where you can hang on her crib or get an electronic bed wear it plays gentle and soft music that puts the baby to sleep (hard to find)

    HOPE IT HELPS!

Have you added anything new to her diet lately? she may be having tommy craps and screaming due to this.

How are her bowl movements? this could be causing discomfort as well.

She is at an age where she may develop separation anxiety, she may just need to know your there.

Does it only happen after you and your partner go to bed? She may wake do to the fact no noise can be heard, try a small radio on very softly to see if that solves the problem.

    Hope that helps

  • shes startled herself awake and its scary your not there its dark she cant tell what haoening her perception of time is way off would feel like hours to her a few min shes also starting to realise shes seperate to you as around that age they dont see that its you and her they jsut see it as together, try having a big elmo toy sitting in her sights i say elmo as she can see the eyes and wont realize its not you thinks shes getting the eye contact and be comforted
