I have recently noticed my cat's gumline is red?

I am thinking maybe gingivitis? Is there a way I can make this better on my own so I don't need to take her to the vet? I've researched little and there is like a cat toothpaste? I have been giving her those dental treats everyday for at least 2 years so im surprised she would have gingivitis...

My dog had this really bad when I got her, some of the gum was really swollen too.

When I took her to the vet, he said he'd seen worse and that its not worth risking anasthetic. I was really frustrated because my dog wouldnt eat hard food and it clearly hurt her. At first I was using dog toothpaste, but I ran out and the supermarket stopped selling it so I started mixing baking soda with water to make a thickish liquid (but not too thick or they'll be sick), to brush her teeth with. I've been doing this everynight for about 4 months and now her gums aren't swollen and the redness has turned a dark pink. I think the baking soda fights off the gingivitis.

Give it a try and stop it quick before it gets worse! Goodluck!

Certain cats can develop gingivitis or peridontal disease. If it gets painful enough she won't to eat. Definitely go the vet if you can. You can but a cat tooth brush and toothpaste at the petstore.

Brushing can help, but if it is true gingivitis, antibiotics will be needed. There is also oral flushes available and dental food.

The only thing to really do is take your cat to the vet and get an antibiotic. They are cheap. My cat has the same problem and he took some antibiotics and now it is all cleared up.
