Is there a way to make ice cream without ziplock bags?
I'm looking for a fun and easy way to make icecream without paying for an icecream maker, but is more sturdy than using ziplock bags.
Have any of you ever tried it some something different, like nested bottles or something? The bags tend to tear and leak everywhere.

I always use plastic containers with lids.
Freeze without the lids on, but if you are making a lot when they are frozen you can put the lids on and freeze for another day.
When I make jelly (Jello US) I use small plastic containers about the size of yoghurt that make a serving size amount and keep them in the fridge for 3-4 days.

You need to use the more sturdy Freezer bags. You can't use regular bags because they break. And then you need to be more gentle while turning them.
There is a cool BALL type of ice cream maker that works really well. Fill it and pass the ball around between a group of kids to keep it turning. Really good when camping with kids.

Zip lock bags????Never heard of that.Use metal bowl in which you make when it is ready (you have to stir the ice cream every half hour until it is ready. Then put it in deep freeze box.
