I'm a teacher. A gay one at that.
What are your five favorite states?
For me, I've only really been around a great deal in the West, so I don't know too many Eastern states, but Massachusetts seems like a nice place to visit someday.
My top five are:
1. Hawaii
2. California
3. Oregon
4. Washington
5. Colorado
13 AnswersPolls & Surveys8 years agoHow do take upper level undergraduate courses while working full time?
Hello guys. I am a 24 year old who has already graduated with his bachelor's degree and am working full time as a science teacher.
I want to get an advanced degree in Physics (which is the subject I am teaching, but to 8th graders, so it's watered down quite a bit) both for personal curiosity, professional development, and the increase in salary it would provide.
I'm sorry, I don't want a degree in education, and that's that.
Anyway, I didn't have an undergrad in physics. I had it in Anthropology, but with a heavy focus on life-sciences and chemistry. So I need to take undergraduate courses in physics before I can apply for a graduate degree.
I can take the really basic courses like college level physics at the community college, and they'll more than likely have classes that will match my schedule (at night). The problem is when I have to take the upper level undergraduate classes. I will have to go to a nearby university, and unfortunately, every upper-level physics undergrad course they have is right smack dab in the middle of the day when I'm teaching. I really don't want to quit my job, and I don't have enough money for online courses.
Is there any way out of this quandary without leaving my job, or should I just save up and expect to have to take a leave of absence at some point?
3 AnswersHigher Education (University +)8 years agoWhy is it so hard for an Asian top to get a masculine white bottom?
I'm an Asian top. I'm pretty much hairless, I have a small build, and I look probably 10 years younger than I really am. However I love topping, hate bottoming, and my type is a furry, masculine, muscular white dude who will bottom for me. It's difficult finding guys like this. Any tips on where to get them?
5 AnswersLesbian, Gay, Bisexual, and Transgender8 years agoHow do you win an argument if you're a conservative?
1. Take the oppositions argument. Remove the victim as the subject and replace yourself in that role. For example: "Conservatives are denying the rights of others by attempting to impose their religious views on gay couples by not allowing them to marry," can easily be transformed into "Gay people are impeding my rights of freedom of speech because they aren't allowing me to deny them the right to marry because of my religious views!"
2. Invoke a higher being that the opposition probably doesn't believe in. "God will strike you down because you are rebelling against his will by being gay!"
3. Place your hands over your ears while loudly shrieking "LALALALALA-I-CAN'T-HEAR-YOU!" For example "LIBERALS ARE SO STUPID BECAUSE THEY CAN'T RECOGNIZE THE TRUTH THAT MARRIAGE IS BETWEEN A MAN AND A WOMAN, AND NO ONE CAN CONVINCE ME OTHERWISE BECAUSE I'M RIGHT AND THEY'RE WRONG, LALALALALALA." Your argument is strengthened two-fold if you add strategy number 2 "IT SAYS SO IN THE BIBLE." and further strengthened if you then play the role of the victim as in strategy 1. "IT'S MY RIGHT TO DENY YOU YOUR RIGHTS BECAUSE THAT'S FREEDOM OF SPEECH!"
If your opposition isn't yet dumbfounded and struck silent due to the utter inanity of your argument and your unparalleled level of stupidty, simply repeat the process multiple times.
Result: You have won the argument! (in your head)
15 AnswersPolitics8 years agoWhat can I do to help along the destruction of Christianity?
Now that atheists and godless liberals have injected immorality into the law using gay marriage all for the express purpose of destroying and undermining Christianity, I want to know what I can do to help this process along. There are STILL Christians in my town! We need them to be destroyed! But how?
8 AnswersReligion & Spirituality8 years agoHow can I make a cheap incline plane/track?
I want to do an acceleration lab in class, and all I have to work with are meter sticks, some tape, index cards, yarn, common office supplies and text books.
Are there any ideas that I can use to create an incline plane track large enough and sturdy enough for hotwheels to roll down or marbles?
2 AnswersPhysics8 years agoWhat is the colloquial saying that means...?
I remember hearing a saying that has a meaning to the effect of "continuing to fight about an issue that both sides really agree on".
Meaning two people are continuing to argue with each other but they are both simply rephrasing a view that actually means the same thing from both sides. So they really agree on an issue, but because of their political stances or their background or whatever they're continuing to disagree about something they really agree about.
This is why I can't just google this unfortunately... >___>
Does anyone remember how that saying goes?

all the time for Obama getting re-elected? Wasn't there that black republican dude who ran, Herman Cain?
Aren't most Southern Baptist Evangelical pastors who are anti-abortion, and anti-gay black? Did't they force their churches to vote for Romney?
8 AnswersPolitics9 years agoHow come people say that libs are on welfare?
And that the only reason Obama won is because everyone who voted for him just wants to live off of the system, when the only people I met who have been on welfare and have been openly milking the system regard themselves as Tea Party members or ultra conservative?

Obama kind of looks like President Lincoln.
Are you guys going to start a Civil War and secede from the Union?

13 AnswersPolitics9 years agoWhat percentage of lies did Romney throw out that weren't addressed in the debate?
Almost every word out of Romney's mouth is a lie or schmoozing, so Obama couldn't catch every one, but do you think he achieved a bit higher score of shooting down the lies this time?
What percentage of lies did Obama catch? Don't you wish Obama did more than just say "That's simply not true Mr. Governor."
Maybe something like punch him in the eye for every lie.
1 AnswerPolitics9 years agoIs there a way to make ice cream without ziplock bags?
I'm looking for a fun and easy way to make icecream without paying for an icecream maker, but is more sturdy than using ziplock bags.
Have any of you ever tried it some something different, like nested bottles or something? The bags tend to tear and leak everywhere.
2 AnswersCooking & Recipes9 years agoI cringe when people say evolution is a FACT?
I know they mean well, but they're getting the whole point of science completely wrong.
Evolution is termed a theory because if new evidence were to arise that disagreed with currently accepted theory, the theory would have to be changed or discarded. This is what is great about science! It changes to meet the observed data to provide the most precise and accurate explanation of how natural processes work!
But a 'fact' is immutable, and when people say evolution is a fact, even when they're just trying to say that scientists have proven again and again that predictions made using this theory have been accurate, or that evidence continues to corroborate this theory, they're really causing people to misconstrue the nature of science and mistrust it if currently accepted theory is found to be wrong based on new evidence.
Does this get your gullet as well?
22 AnswersReligion & Spirituality9 years agoIn response to the legislator who violated the Freedom of Speech of the Raven's football player?
This is the response by Chris Kluwe to the idiot legislator who attempted to deny the freedom of speech of a pro-gay NFL player.
Dear Emmett C. Burns Jr.,
I find it inconceivable that you are an elected official of Maryland’s state government. Your vitriolic hatred and bigotry make me ashamed and disgusted to think that you are in any way responsible for shaping policy at any level. The views you espouse neglect to consider several fundamental key points, which I will outline in great detail (you may want to hire an intern to help you with the longer words):
1. As I suspect you have not read the Constitution, I would like to remind you that the very first, the VERY FIRST Amendment in this founding document deals with the freedom of speech, particularly the abridgment of said freedom. By using your position as an elected official (when referring to your constituents so as to implicitly threaten the Ravens organization) to state that the Ravens should “inhibit such expressions from your employees,” more specifically Brendon Ayanbadejo, not only are you clearly violating the First Amendment, you also come across as a narcissistic fromunda stain. What on earth would possess you to be so mind-boggingly stupid? It baffles me that a man such as yourself, a man who relies on that same First Amendment to pursue your own religious studies without fear of persecution from the state, could somehow justify stifling another person’s right to speech. To call that hypocritical would be to do a disservice to the word. Mindfucking obscenely hypocritical starts to approach it a little bit.
2. “Many of your fans are opposed to such a view and feel it has no place in a sport that is strictly for pride, entertainment, and excitement.” Holy ******* shitballs. Did you seriously just say that, as someone who’s “deeply involved in government task forces on the legacy of slavery in Maryland”? Have you not heard of Kenny Washington? Jackie Robinson? As recently as 1962 the NFL still had segregation, which was only done away with by brave athletes and coaches daring to speak their mind and do the right thing, and you’re going to say that political views have “no place in a sport”? I can’t even begin to fathom the cognitive dissonance that must be coursing through your rapidly addled mind right now; the mental gymnastics your brain has to tortuously contort itself through to make such a preposterous statement are surely worthy of an Olympic gold medal (the Russian judge gives you a 10 for “beautiful oppressionism”).
3. This is more a personal quibble of mine, but why do you hate freedom? Why do you hate the fact that other people want a chance to live their lives and be happy, even though they may believe in something different than you, or act different than you? How does gay marriage, in any way shape or form, affect your life? If gay marriage becomes legal, are you worried that all of a sudden you’ll start thinking about penis? “Oh ****. Gay marriage just passed. Gotta get me some of that hot dong action!” Will all of your friends suddenly turn gay and refuse to come to your Sunday Ticket grill-outs? (Unlikely, since gay people enjoy watching football too.)
I can assure you that gay people getting married will have zero effect on your life. They won’t come into your house and steal your children. They won’t magically turn you into a lustful cockmonster. They won’t even overthrow the government in an orgy of hedonistic debauchery because all of a sudden they have the same legal rights as the other 90 percent of our population—rights like Social Security benefits, child care tax credits, Family and Medical Leave to take care of loved ones, and COBRA healthcare for spouses and children. You know what having these rights will make gays? Full-fledged American citizens just like everyone else, with the freedom to pursue happiness and all that entails. Do the civil-rights struggles of the past 200 years mean absolutely nothing to you?
In closing, I would like to say that I hope this letter, in some small way, causes you to reflect upon the magnitude of the colossal foot in mouth clusterfuck you so brazenly unleashed on a man whose only crime was speaking out for something he believed in. Best of luck in the next election; I’m fairly certain you might need it.
Sincerely,
Chris Kluwe
P.S. I’ve also been vocal as hell about the issue of gay marriage so you can take your “I know of no other NFL player who has done what Mr. Ayanbadejo is doing” and shove it in your close-minded, totally lacking in empathy piehole and choke on it. Asshole.
5 AnswersPolitics9 years agoWould you agree that this is an affront of freedom of speech?
http://www.boxturtlebulletin.com/2012/09/07/48496
A state legislator asks the boss of one of the Baltimore Raven's football players to shut him up to keep him from voicing his support of gay marriage.
Is this worse than what happened with the Chik-Fil-A ordeal? Yes. Because this is asking a single man, and not a corporation who is using money to discriminate against a minority, to stop his freedom of speech.
Why are people so hypocritical?
