It seems maybe they have something to hide. And does color matter?
A green anorak, for instance, does that convey simple entrepreneurship or does it speak volumes of the person wearing it, of deceit and manipulation?

Maybe the cultural messages sent by anoraks are different here. 'Anorak' is another word for nerd or geek, someone to be pitied more than mistrusted. Urban anoraks, or hoodies are definitely not to be trusted though.
What about someone who wears a woolly hat in bed ?

Possibly they are. It's also possible they're simply fellow travelers on the Road of life. There are many paths along the Road with many crossings.
Colors are a random occurrence. Bright colors are frequently a sign of foppery. The wearers do bear watching.

you obviously have never lived in a country that has real winter. Here in Canada, you'd freeze to death without a parka and in the summer we still need a jacket most of the time after dark
