Chi-Squared. Need to find expected number of tootsie roll pops?

Suppose you conduct research to test student preference among five types of candy. One thousand students are included in your sample. One of the candy selections is Tootsie Roll Pops. You use chi-square to analyze the data. Based on the null hypothesis, how many students do you expect to choose Tootsie Roll Pops?

    Assuming equal preference for the 5 candy types, p=.20 for each type of candy.

    So .20(1000)=200.
