Should I play Pokemon black/white before playing version 2?

I have started Playing White 2 the other day, and if you don't play B/W it may be a little confusing. As for an avid pokemon fan like myself, I have played all games, and will always beat the league prior to the next games release. From Red and Blue in the late 90's up to B/W today, and am starting a White 2 adventure. I have all the games and some copies of DS games, so I tend to play every day. As everyone is different decide for yourself. I personally think you might want to because it will be slightly confusing at the start of white, seeing as how you start in a city of the Unova in white2 that is completely different than in White.
