LOW Resting Blood Pressure?

young adult male. good health.

6-day hospital impatient visit having tests done(other reasons). i was immobile (in a bed) the whole time. they checked my vitals every 4-hours. my BP is within the normal range (120/80). the thing that questioned me was my BP was higher(114-123/58-67) at night than during the day(97-111/49-58)

Resting HR 47-64

since this visit i noticed heart-strain(rapid beating) and dizziness upon standing. ER stated i'm ok.

any ideas way this is happening.

Don't know, but I would go see a cardiologist. Your resting heart rate is low, and blood pressure is supposed to be lower while you're resting; when it's not it tends to indicate hardening of the arteries. Were you up at night in the hospital? I know I can't sleep when I'm in the hospital.

Also sounds like you have postural hypotension and should stand up slooowly. You may also need more salt in your diet.

3 years ago, I was diagnosed - hypertension with a reading of 160/100. I used to feel dizzy a lot, my legs had awful cramps, and levels were very low in my potassium, causing my fingers and toes to always cramp together. One day I started to feel really faint while I was driving with my daughter in the back seat and I passed out, hitting 3 cars and ending up in a ditch. That moment,I knew I had to do something because my meds weren't working. I heard about this diet from a friend and thought I'd give it a shot. The results have been remarkable. In just 21 days, I honestly can't remember feeling this good, my blood pressure went from 175/110 to 125/70.

you are fine 55 isn't particularly slow mine is 54, and a superfit pal has a resting heart rate of 42 blood pressure is only a problem if you start fainting , high heart rate combined with low BP can be indicative of a problem
