it is said that money makes it easier to put up with life's problems but the rich are unhappy in their own way The classic philosophical way to define happiness is a healthy mind in a healthy body but you will find some philosophers who say get as much money as you can so that you can do the things you want of course there are others who say don't want too much Diogeness lived in a rain water barrel outside the gates of Athens and when Alexandra the great the king asked him whatever you want I will give you Diogeness said then get out of my sunlight when he went to the markets every day but never brought anything the stall owners demanded to know why he came he said I come to see all the things you sell that I do not need so he said he was happy wanting nothing

You are stuck with needs and desires as you live, which are fulfilled with materials (that can be bought) and possibly by your economic status.

Money is a cause of happiness, but is it defined as happiness? Don't understand that.

Money is also a cause of greater freedom. As anyone knows that lives off, say, retirement money (SSI), or disability, or just makes enough money to afford cable, but not other desires and luxuries of a developed country.

  • The use of money or possessing it can give you happiness and joy to fill up something else or to gain something in return at the moment. But still it will never define the value of real happiness...

Happiness is what your own being can define, deep within your heart and soul.

    Have nice times...!!

money is a necessity, but it definitely does not define happiness. happiness is defined by how you relate in terms of attitude to your surroundings! the rich may be unhappy having defined themselves solely by objects and consumption. the poor may be filled with happiness due to the love they share with a friend, family, or even a pet. good luck!

In our society, of course it does.

Money alone does not define happiness, but if you don't have money well then you're not going to be able to live happily within society. That is not to say you cannot live happily altogether.

You will probably need to find another means to live, you'll need to create your own happiness.

Happiness is the constant goal of life. Money makes it easy to earn happiness, but can't itself earn happiness... People of too much pride find happiness in money.

Money always makes people happier... But, if there is something more precious than money to someone, then he won't find happiness in money, if he doesn't get what he desired more than money.

Only a fool would say that money isn't important . Family , friends , & love are more important . But , having plenty of money would take away the stress , and give you more time to spend with family & friends .

    you want opinions, right?

well, here's mine: I think yes, they do provide happiness

but only when you how to handle them

when you had worked hard in order to obtain them

when they have been brought to you by some luck or without any effort

you practically do no appreciate them and can waste them in a click

unfortunately, in this capitalistic world (and I am not talking about just usa) you just need them

you cannot survive if you do not have them

you need to eat, right? well, food does not come for free, unless you live in exotic country

but even then it is not so easy.

No money makes you greety. Happiness is family, friends, the little things in life.
