Grammar help (Again)?

Sorry answerer of Yahoo, but I have another grammar question.

Is this sentence correct?

"Marie or Tonya will bring her CD player to the party."

I'm not sure if the pronoun is "her" or their. Can someone please explain the rule to me? Thank you very much.

This is a big one on ACTs and SATs, too; consistency. In this case, the pronoun doesn't reflect the nouns used prior - you have "Maria or Tonya", multiple people, but "her" is singular. "Their" is the proper pronoun.

I believe you are correct. If the word was " and " instead of " or ", then you would use their.

With the fact that "or" is used, it would be "their"
