Hello, I'm Megan. I have three horses in real life: Penny (10 years old, Bay Marble Appaloosa) , Kish (19 years old, sorrel Qh) and Spy (6 year old chestnut Fresh off the Track TB). I mainly answer horse questions, but will sometimes wander into the Friends, School, and maybe even the Poll section. I am a straight A student 5 times in a row. I have trouble finding the right friends because I always end up hating them after a while. I don't really like music, my role model is River Phoenix (not for his looks, but for his beauty), and I LOVE writing. Poems, stories, you name it. As long as it's not for school, lol. My favorite books are The Outside of a Horse by Ginny Rorby and Paint the Wind by Pam Munuzo-Ryan. Yeah, I love reading, too. I am a horseback rider, but Im not very athletic. So, I hate sports. Really. I do. Well, that's....it. Bye.
How do I solve these problems (Algebra Help)?
This may seem like a lot, but I'm really sorry. I've moved schools so much this year that I've missed out on a lot of Algebra units, since each class had a different pace. Now its time for the end of course test and I'm afraid of failing. My teacher now is really mean and I'm scared to ask her questions. How would I solve the following problems?
(1) Shawn and Curtis went for a walk. Shawn began walking 20 seconds earlier than Curtis at a speed of 5 feet per second. Curtis walked at a speed of 6 feet per second. For how many seconds had Shawn been walking at the moment when the two boys had walked exactly the same distance?
(2) What is the smallest of 3 consecutive positive integers if the product of the smaller two integers is 5 less than 5 time the largest integer?
(3) The function f(t)= -5t(to the second power) + 20t + 60 models the approximate height of an object "t" seconds after it is launched. How many seconds does it take the object to hit the ground?
(4) The larger leg of a right triangle is 3cm longer than its smaller leg. The hypotenuse is 6cm longer than the smaller leg. How many centimeters long is the smaller leg?
I have the answers to these b/c they are in the back of our study book (to check ourselves), but for the course test, I would really like to know how to actually solve these. All answers are appreciated! Thank you for the help.
3 AnswersHomework Help8 years agoWhat would you rather see in a writing piece?
I am writing a story, and was wondering if the audience (you guys) would rather the future antagonist be more developed, so when the character becomes the antagonist that the reader feels a sense of guilt and betrayal, or the character be less developed, so the change doesn't seem too drastic or "out of character"?
2 AnswersBooks & Authors8 years agoHow to get smoke smell out of clothes (my parents smoke)?
My parents smoke, so I go to school smelling like smoke every day. Recently, rumors have started to spread that I smoke, which is completely untrue and ridiculous. Despite, I am acquainted every day with the words "Someone stinks in here" and all eyes falling upon me. I live in a 2 bedroom house with all of my sisters, so my only option is to keep my clothes in my parents' room b/c I really don't have a closet to put them in. I can't wash them; we don't have a dryer and rely solely upon laundry mats, which we only visit about once every two months. I don't really have any perfume, but I might be able to scrounge some. I'm between a rock and a hard place. Any advice?
3 AnswersCleaning & Laundry8 years agoMy horse will not turn to go away from the barn?
I have an 11 year old appaloosa mare. She's always been "spirited" and whatnot, but when I rode yesterday she was seriously misbehaving. I turned her down the trail away from the barn and, as usual, she tried to turn around and go back a couple times. I whipped her back around and for a while she was fine. Then, we came to the middle of the trail and suddenly she decided she was not going any farther. She turned around and started heading towards the barn. I turned her in circles until she was facing the opposite direction, clucked to her to signal her forward, and she went forward...in the opposite direction. After trying to reposition her and getting her head to where she could not turn it, she started going backwards up the trail. She was also very agitated and tried to buck a couple times. Today we had a vet come out and rule out any possibility of injury or lameness. I know it's because she's barn sour, but do you have any tips on curbing her behavior? I am working on disassociating the barn with the resting place, but in the meantime, is there anyway I can better seize control of her so she won't run back up the trail?
4 AnswersHorses8 years agoGrammar help (Again)?
Sorry answerer of Yahoo, but I have another grammar question.
Is this sentence correct?
"Marie or Tonya will bring her CD player to the party."
I'm not sure if the pronoun is "her" or their. Can someone please explain the rule to me? Thank you very much.
5 AnswersHomework Help9 years agoCan you help me check my grammar homework?
We are studying pronouns. Please tell me if these sentences are proper. Thank you!
"Everyone brought their notebook to class today."
Would it be "their" or "his or her"?
"My social studies book has a stain of its cover."
Thank you so much for the help :)
13 AnswersHomework Help9 years agoShould I tell the school counselor?
My friend Zoey has told me a lot about her family in the past few days. Her mother is an abusive alcoholic who has even proved her crudeness to my family (we're neighbors) when she came upon her porch while drunk and rudely yelled some hardly legible and irrelevant insults at me and my sisters while we were outside playing in our yard. To say the least, the woman's full out bonkers, and Zoey's stepdad, who she said she didn't trust either, recently divorced the woman, taking Zoey's two half siblings with him to New York. She told me she's scared of living with her mother by herself, seeing that her mother drinks, doesn't have a job, and often brings home random men from the trailer park next door.
I told Zoey that she should talk to the counselor, but she doesn't want to leave her mother seeking as though her mother is already in a mentally distressed state from the recent divorce and what-not, and she was scared of living in a foster home where she won't know who's taking care of her.
Still, I feel as though I should to something to help her. Just the other day, Zoey's mother ordered her out of the house for talking to her stepdad (before he left) and told her to leave. Zoey walked down the road for quite a long ways before her mother's friend picked her up and took her to her house.
I know from stories that foster homes can be just as bad as home. Should I betray my friend and tell the counselor, in hope that it may get her some help? Or should I leave her and her mother to themselves?
Say if I did tell the counselor, what would they do?
your answers are appreciated. Thank you :)
2 AnswersFamily9 years agoHaving trouble loading my horses?
I'm moving my three horses to a different stable this weekend. Yesterday we tried loading them, but none of them would comply. I tried coaxing them in there, they'd stiffen up or turn to the side. I tried having my father tap them with the crop gently or swinging the lead rope at there hips, and at one point one of my mares reared up and ran off (we caught her, thankfully).
We have three horses and only a two horse trailer. They are all very herd oreinted and have seperation anxiety, but unfortunately we are going to have to haul them there one by one or two at a time and then come back for the other. We have to move them this weekend no matter what. Do you have any tips for loading them?
5 AnswersHorses9 years agoCan he call the ASPCA on my horses?
I rent a horse barn/farm from this dude and we haven't paid rent in a month, only because we are moving the horses to a different farm closer by soon. Yesterday he put a lock on the gate of the barn, and my mom said she had to move [the horses] soon because she was afraid he'd call the ASPCA on them or something and say they were abandon. The horses are in good condition and everything, but we didn't sign a formal lease, so he could just say we left them there...can he do that? If that were to happen, what would become of my horses? Would I be able to get them back? I haven't had a chance to talk to the guy because I lost his number...do you think he'll think we are just going to give up on the rent and go ahead and get the horses out? We're moving them next weekend, but I'm afraid he would do that in the meantime...I'm sorry for the everywhere-ness, I'm in bit of a panic.

I know it varys, and that knocking down a rail is like 4 faults or something like that..but I tried going on wikipedia and I didn't understand..is there a difference between faults/penalties? And how are your penalties added on to your time (if they are)? How do you get your score? What's better, a larger score or a smaller score? Is your score your time? I just don't get it...any help would really be appreciated.
