Can you still gain fat if your eating around 1.5k Calories a day?
As the title says.
I'm in college and these medical classes are extremely time consuming, let alone running the house 90% of the day while my parents are gone with work. At this point, I only workout 1 day a week, 2 if I'm lucky, compared to when I was working out 5 times a week during the summer. But I only eat about 1k-1.5k ( mostly unhealthy) Calories a day. Is it still possible to gain fat? I know everyones body is different; my metabolism is extremely fast, and I'm still 19 (why I'm eating unhealthy still. Better to abuse the metabolism while it's still running like a champ). But as a general, can you gain fat from eating 1-1.5k Calories a day, even if the cal's are mostly unhealthy? Thanks.

Yes. Calories is Calories. It doesn't necessarily matter where the calories are coming from when you're dealing with weight loss and weight gain. It's like asking is a pound of brick or a pound of feathers heavier. In either case, you have a pound.
You didn't talk about your height, weight or body composition, so I can't make an assessment on whether 1,000-1,500 calories is a good range for you.
If you're consuming 1,500 calories each day and your body only uses 1,000, then you're going to experience weight gain if this occurs everyday. In contrast, if your body need 2,000 and you only give it 1,500, then you're going to experience weight loss overtime.
