  • Repercussions for Medicinal Marijuana in Illinois?

I've learned that smoking cannabis helps me relieve stress, helps me eat (I workout often but have a hard time eating more than 2k calories a day, which doesn't work well together), and keeps me motivated (I know smoking to be motivated is an oxymoron, but it keeps me focused on the important matters in front of me, and I often use it as a reward for finishing a paper/12 hour shift/etc.)

I also learned that it is now legal for medicinal use in Illinois. What are the consequences of getting a medicinal marijuana card? Will it not allow me to work in the medical field? Will it not let me vote? Where can I find more about this?

I know dope is highly frowned upon, but as a pharmacy tech at CVS, I see plenty of people who depend on liver and kidney damaging prescription medications to get through the day, which is unarguably much worse for you than smoking a bit here and there to relieve the same symptoms. If anyone can post any links for this topic with some answers, it'd be highly appreciated.

    Thank you kindly.

  • Planning on buying a 32' TV. Should I wait until Black Friday or Cyber Monday?

Looking for a TV for my room because my parents took the one I was using to the house they're moving into. As bored as I am, I'd rather wait until I can save some money on a purchase. I was going to wait until Black Friday, but I just learned about Cyber Monday.

Which day would be better for buying a 1080p 32' name brand TV?

    Thanks

  • Experienced couples, what to do with a date for fun?

So I'm a hardcore newbie in the dating life. I'm a 20 year old male w/ a 18 year old female. I have my 3rd date next week, and not sure what to do for the day besides dinner. The beach has been our go-to spot for the first two dates, and I obviously want to find something new. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

  • Does jack and coke make you smell like you've been drinking?

As the title says. My birthday is Saturday, I'd like to drink a little, but BC I'll be a year short of being 21, I don't want to listen to my parents about it.

  • "Pray the gay away" camp statistics?

My dad was telling me how the "pray the gay away" camps work, and when I said they just mind f*ck the kids, he said that was BS. I'd love for someone to send me a link of reliable statistics just so I can prove him wrong. Sending kids to an indoctrination camp to "save their souls" is a load of crap, but it's hard to argue (especially when your dad's an attorney) without statistics.

    Thanks in advance.

    Thanks

  • Religious title question?

Recently I've been thinking more and more about my religion. I was raised as a Roman Catholic, but lately I've been having personal doubts about the religion. It's nothing against the religion itself. But the more I think about it, the less I believe. I've prayed at night over and over for a sign to keep me believing. But there's nothing.

I still believe in a god of some sort, the universe and everything in it is way too complicated for me to believe "Oh, yeah. It just happened bc it did. The end." But I believe that God is way too complicated for any of us to understand, let alone have an entire book based around Him. The only reason I believe(d) in the god I did was because of the location and people that helped raise me. If I lived in India, Iran, or Israel, I doubt I would have had the same religious views.

So really what I'm asking is, what's the name of this view type on death/God/afterlife/etc.? As far as I know, this isn't agnosticism because agnostics are 'unsure' about a god because there's no proof. I still believe there is a god. Just one beyond our understanding.

    Thanks for any replies.

Oh, please no rants on "You still need to believe!!" I can make my own decisions and think on my own. I would just like my question answered.

  • To all the parents: Why do you buy Call of Duty for your young kids?

I just finished playing my brother's Black Ops II game. That was definitely one of the more violent games I've played. And for a mainstream shooter game, there were some pretty graphic moments. There's:

The very first scene of game play, with some kid (18 years old around) trapped in a vehicle, burning alive and banging on the glass. The melting and burning flesh was pretty detailed. Definitely something that can mind-f**k a lot of younger kids, especially considering a large portion of the Call of Duty players aren't even in High School.

Torture scenes. The acting was good. The agonizing crying was realistic and added to the disturbing atmosphere of the cut scenes.

Execution scenes. One scene where a guy uses civilians to try and get someone to talk. The guy shoots some young girl in the head, and again, the crying and acting was enough to make it more realistic and disturbing.

I'm not saying the game was horrifying or as gruesome as something like Saw. But it sure isn't a game for some middle school kids. I've never cared for Call of Duty. Black Ops II was pretty fun. But definitely one of the most violent games I've played. I'm 19, so the violence and blood doesn't really bother me. But this game could definitely be disturbing for some younger kids.

Just my two cents. But I find irresponsible parenting really bothersome.

  • Taco Bell's cookie sandwich: Any good?

Saw an ad for Tbell's new Cookie Sandwich. Has anyone tried it yet? I'm extremely grubby with my money (even more so since I don't have a job BC of college) and I'd rather not go spending money on a desert if it's going to taste like nasty-burnt cookie crap. Let alone drive out to Tbell in the first place.

    Opinions on it?

  • Project X: Why all the hate?

Saw the movie a few nights ago, and I really enjoyed it the entire way through. I thought the documentary-film technique was really creative (starting out as the one camera at the start of the movie & party, as the party gets bigger the amount of documentary goes up from the other camera's owned by people at the party, later the cop cameras are added in, etc etc.) And not that the plot was some masterpiece by any means, but I thought it was different, for a party movie.

Main point: why did everyone hate the movie so much? Most of the criticism was negative. One even said it was the worst comedy in the past 20 years. I can understand where an older audience would find it to be an annoying movie. I'm 19, so I'm sure that plays a role in why I enjoyed it. But I still know guys around my age that thought the movie was garbage.

What's your input on the movie, and why you (most likely) thought it sucked? If you did enjoy it actually, than cheers. Feel free to respond either way.

And sorry for the half-as*ed grammar.

  • Question for one who is good at math?

So the end of the semester is getting closer, exams are getting tougher, and I'm getting less time to study. My last exam in my medical vocab class, I only got an 83%, which is enough to decently screw my chances of getting an A. But I want to know what my numbers are. So if you can solve this, I will love you.

I currently have a 493/543. The final total in the class is 749 (so 206 points left in the semester). The entire class grade is made up of exams/quizzes. I need a 92%, minimum, to pass with an A. The teacher doesn't round up. What is the MINIMUM I need to score out of 206 to pass the class with a 92%?

Thanks in advance. I just want to know if I should continue to bend-over backwards to try and get an A in this class, or if I should lay back a bit and put that time/effort into my other classes. Thanks again!

  • Do you think Michael Scott will return for the last episode of The Office?

I just finished the episode "Goodbye Michael." I've been told the show REALLY starts to lose its touch after this point. I was also told season nine is going to be the last season of the office. Do you think Michael Scott will show up for the last episode? To me, ending the show without him appearing for at least the last scene (not expecting a full episode with him) would be more than disappointing. Has anyone heard any statements or comments made on the matter? Or does anyone have any opinions on the idea?

  • Huge difference between xbox on 480 & 720 TV?

Currently I have a 480p Sony television in my basement. My dad has a 720 TV with HD capabilities. I was thinking about possibly investing in an HD cable for my xbox. Would it be worth the money? My friend said it really isn't and there is definitely a difference, not a big one. How much nicer does the Xbox (or any system/entertainment for that matter) look on a 720 HD TV in comparison to a older 480 non-HD TV?

    Thanks!

  • Why does my poop smell like what I just ate?

Dropping the kids off at the pool right now w// my smart phone (technology is awesome..) and I notice my crap smells like the food I just ate an hour ago. This is far from being the first time this has happened. If it takes your body near a day to digest (more or less depending on the person obviously) food, why does the aftermath smell like what I just had recently?

  • Will moving files from "Music" to "iTunes Media" decrease errors?

Would moving my music under Libraries > Music, to: Libraries > Music > iTunes > iTunes Media, accomplish anything, or would it be a waste of time waiting for my 1000+ songs to transfer? Sorry if this is a stupid question. I'm terrible with computers.

    Thanks.

  • Do you think South Park will end the series with a movie (opinions)?

Judging from the interviews with Matt and Trey, they both sound like they're going to call it quits once their contract with comedy central expires. South Park is definitely my favorite show. Funny as hell, and is the only show that is willing to make fun of everyone (that and the show keeps up with current events, something that makes the show very unique, other than being willing to poke at the liberals). Unlike more adult comedy cartoons, I've actually grown attached to the characters. It would be depressing if the show just... ended.

Do you think Matt and Trey will finish the series off with a movie? A theater movie like the first South Park movie would be awesome. But it's obviously impossible to say what will happen in 4+ years. Any opinions/speculation/etc? Why or why not do you think this would/n't happen?

  • Monster Energy on a full stomach?

Ate dinner around 30 min ago, and I'm pretty stuffed. I'm tired as hell, and have alot of material to review before my exam tomorrow. Monster Energy has been useful for me so far, but I've always had them on a relatively empty stomach. I usually avoid the energy drinks, but I really need an energy boost for a few hours (typically how long a Monster Energy lasts me.) Will the ingestion of the radioactive-carbonated-pee-in-a-can be a waste with a full stomach? Thanks in advance.

  • Social Anxiety Disorder checklist link?

I see my doctor Monday. I'm almost positive I have social anxiety disorder. I really have no idea how to bring up the subject, and I know I'll forget important details if I try to explain the situation off the top of my head. Is there a website with a decent sized checklist on social anxiety symptoms I could printout and fill out? I couldn't find any on bing.com. Thanks in advance.

  • Can you still gain fat if your eating around 1.5k Calories a day?

    As the title says.

I'm in college and these medical classes are extremely time consuming, let alone running the house 90% of the day while my parents are gone with work. At this point, I only workout 1 day a week, 2 if I'm lucky, compared to when I was working out 5 times a week during the summer. But I only eat about 1k-1.5k ( mostly unhealthy) Calories a day. Is it still possible to gain fat? I know everyones body is different; my metabolism is extremely fast, and I'm still 19 (why I'm eating unhealthy still. Better to abuse the metabolism while it's still running like a champ). But as a general, can you gain fat from eating 1-1.5k Calories a day, even if the cal's are mostly unhealthy? Thanks.

(I'm just at the first level of the radiography program, before people whine about my lack of dietary knowledge. No cover at all on health nutrition.)
