There is nothing wrong with your transmission. You have a engine miss or you need to clean the throttle body and air by pass. The reason it runs okay in reverse is because reverse is a lower gear then first and therefore doesn't put a big enough strain on the engine to product the shaking. Fix the engine and let the trans alone.

Have the spark plugs and wires been converted out not too long ago? If sure, then are trying cleaning your MAF/MAP sensor and your idle air manage valve. Also, are attempting cleansing inside of your throttle physique. Use throttle body cleaner. This can be found at any elements store, even wal-mart has it.

since forward gears make the issue but neutral and reverse do not, i hve to wonder if you do not have an issue wirt the electrical related to the direction that the engine is leaning under the load.

Your transmission could be messing up. Or something could be wrong with the gears.

I would have to say the transmission is going bad. Go for a transmission rebuild.
