Cutting vs. building?

I am trying to build muscle and also get "cut" and lean.

How long of a cycle for building? When do I go into a cutting phase? For how long? Can I do building for a time (6 weeks?) and then do cutting for a time? For how long?

Please help as I am confused.

    Honestly there is not set time from for bulking/cutting. Bulk until you feel you're big enough, and then cut until you get to where you want to be.
