Computer over heating sound?

My dad has windows XP, and has some custom built PC, but it's a piece of crap now, and the issue is once the PC starts getting hot, it makes a God awful beeping sound that I can only relate to the busy signal of a phone. I know it might be a bad idea to turn it off etc etc, but PLEASE for the love of God, just tell me how to turn it off. The PC is old and will be replaced soon, so we aren't worried about damaging it all that much. The sound is coming from the PC itself BTW, not speakers. Thank you.

Update:

I have cleaned out the PC, dusted it out...and it's got like 3 fans in it. It still over heats, and I just want a simple way to turn off the sound. I am not very good with PCs, so please don't go crazy on explanations.

Could be a fan problem. Ever thought of cleaning out the dust on the inside?

If it's over heating and it's old, odds are that the thermal paste is bad. Go to Newegg.com or a Radio Shack. Purchase some new Thermal Paste. (first make sure the CPU fan still works). Look up instructional video's on youtube on how to put on thermal paste. When applying the paste, put a small amount of paste in the middle of the heat sink, about the size of a grain if rice. (Don't listen to any other method. I've tried them and the rice size in the middle works best.)

if you look on the motherboard there is a speaker (image in source) that you can either just remove or have to fill maybe with some tape and wool that is the non technical way to mute the sound or reduce it. but if you know how your BIOS works (Not insulting but it is dangerous to change it without the knowledge) you can turn the on-board speaker off.

    Removable speaker:

you have to look for the socked that looks like the image(the motherboard usually labels the sockets) if its not that small wire.
