That's only the tip of the iceberg
Two weeeks ago one of the many mandates of the Affordable Care Act was implemented whereby a Hospital is subject to a fine of $ 150,000 every time it re-admits a Medicare Patient back into the Hospital within 30 days of being discharged from the Hospital
In other words.....If Aunt Ethel has a triple bypass and is dischsarged from the Hospital 2 days after the surgery and then develops " complications " 5 days after she is discharged....Aunt Ethel is S.O.L. and won't be re-admitted to the Hospital for the next 25 days IF she lives that long
