I wiped my hard drive to factory condition, but I need a file I deleted!?
So my computer became very unresponsive and unco-operative with me recently so I had wiped the computer. The only problem is that there was a very important file to me, and I did not have it saved on a USB. I've tried recovering it using Recuva but it doesn't seem to find it. I don't care about anything else that was on my computer. There was just one Wordpad document that I had saved on my Desktop. If anybody can help me restore the file on my computer, I will be very grateful and give them best answer! It is a Toshiba laptop

Never had a problem with Recuva. Even managed to recover overwritten files from a reformatted drive with a clean install of windows onto it.
Did you set the options properly?
Recuva. Options> Tick everything.
Scan then set filter to .rtf

Its greater helpful to wipe each and every thing in the previous you sell it. in case you do not have your OS setting up disk one by one, then use kit like TuneUp Shredder in TuneUp utilities to erase your documents on all drives without a hint. in case you have the setting up documents on CD/DVD, then pass on your difficultchronic producer internet site and get disk administration kit and carry out a nil filling in yourchronic. be conscious: 0 filling takes an prolonged time counting on your difficultchronic potential. wish this facilitates.

I have had excellent results with ddrescue. You might give it a try if the file is really important. Link below.
