Should absentee votes be counted on election day and included before states can declare a winner?

Instead of only opening absentee votes if the election is close?

Update:

Why count them? Because they still matter. Every vote should be counted. It's disenfranchising voters to know they won't count - and that is especially true for those military votes.

YES. My family is a family of absentee voters. We need equal treatment.

  • Since the counting of absentee votes is a process determined by states, I'm not sure why you would make such a blanket, inaccurate statement. but in states where that is relevant and the outcome could e changed, then yes.

    Why?

If absentee votes are 3%, and a candidate leads by 10%, why wait?

Depends on the numbers. If every single absentee vote is for Obama and he still can't win, why count them?

A lot of absentee ballots are sent in weeks ahead. If it is close there is an automatic recount in most states.

Sure, if the tally is close enough that absentee votes can change the outcome.

It depends on the state. TX records early votes but will not tally them until election day.

    No.

    Now one for you:

Why do conservatives struggle so much with mathematics??

Guess what genius... they DO get counted ..... but if they CANNOT MATHEMATICALLY change the outcome.... they are nonetheless irrelevant.

depends on the percent of votes... but if it's a small percent, I don't directly see a need...

if it's a large percent... obviously, yes
