Automatic feeling while running?
So basically we have to run a mile every few weeks at my school. It's very strange, because for the first half I feel ok and then the third quarter and half of the fourth quarter I get really tired. But then halfway through the last lap I start to run faster and at a certain point I feel this weird feeling like my legs and arms are moving automatically and I don't have to try or think about it because unjust running. It's very strange. So I have a couple of questions.
What is this and why does it happen?
Can I use this while I'm running the whole time to improve my times or does it only happen when you have been running and tired?
Any other info?
Thanks!!!!!

Well its human instincts. When finishing a run, seeing its end in front of you is like "going in for the kill" if you get what I'm trying to say. Your body blocks out your feelings of fatigue to allow you to finish what your doing. .
You can't use this for the whole run, once it starts you can't turn it off, the trick is to get it going earlier. to do that you must convince your self that your almost at the finish. I do this in cross country to help pass people at the ends of my races. A mile before the finish line I get this feeling your asking about where I don't feel tired and I run faster till the finish line. the way I get it going is i convince myself that I NEED to pass the guy 5 runners a head of me and I "go for it", if I catch him then i just tell myself that now I have to catch the guy 3 racers a head of me. The race is usually over before i can do that.
I hope you kind of understand it? this is just one of those things that hard to explain
I know some people call this a "second wind''
