i have an idea of what your talking about. i became a fascination with movies lately and i have seen like 50 movies within the last month. i still love games but not as much as i have (for now) until i play one and i get fascinated with the game (whether old and new). dont nitpick games. every game is going to have a flaw liek a glitch or stupid dialogue or cliche event but just enjoy what they truly are. it is truly amazing what game companies can come out with these days. for your case if you want to become a game designer you should play other games to get variety in your mind and try to make genuine and clearly new ideas from games that you have already played or figure out a new idea for a game completely. good luck to you
