What's the difference between a Pentecostal and an Baptist baptism?

OK, this has nothing to do with me, I know I'm going to hell. I just want some education on a finer point of Christian doctrine.

My little sister (who's an adult) has yet to be baptized and she attends a Baptist church... a sleepy New England type church. Nothing to strict or formal going on there. She was invited to come and get baptized at a Pentecostal church, and declined saying that she'd rather be baptized by her own pastor if she decided to do it. Of course, the one doing the inviting is upset that it's not going to get done right, and hence won't count. (I find the whole thing funny... but that's besides the point).

The main argument is over the verbiage. Pentecostal says has to be in *Jesus* name or doesn't count, Baptist says in the name of the father, son, and holy spirit. I might be a heathen, but I was pretty sure Jesus and the Son were the same...

Is this some weird trinitarian definitions game, or are there real differences between the two?

Update:

Oh snarky atheists, you never fail me. Where's the Christian bandwagon when you need them? lol...

Since I am a Baptist, I've never been baptized by any other church group. I have heard that some churches baptize in Jesus name only, but I'm not sure who they are. The Son is Jesus and this is how He said it in the Bible, that is, to do it in the name of the Father, Son, and the Holy Spirit, like you said. We are filled with the Spirit when we are saved, before being dunked, but may need a filling by the Spirit many times through life, as needed; our filling doesn't cause speaking in tongues nor is it for ever without needing it again to get the power to do the Lord's work. Baptizing is by a quick dunk under water and quickly raised up, not sprinkled or water poured over the head. For a Baptist Church, a person is baptized into membership in the church, so she has to be dunked by her own pastor. God bless, I'd like to see you in Heaven some day.

The difference between a Pentecostal and an Baptist baptism? Probably the overemphasis that we, as Christians, need to be baptized in order to be saved which is not biblical. Baptism is an act of obedience towards God, not a salvation's work! Not quite sure though. Anyways on the important issue, you don't have to go Hell, God made a way for you to be saved!

The bad news: We all have sinned (violated God's law) and fall short to the glory of God (Romans3:23) , which means that there is no one who is good, but God alone and wages of sin is death(Hell). (Romans 3:10-18, Romans 6:23)

The good news: The good news is that God loved us so much that he sent his son as a punishment for our sins so who that whoever believes in him should not go to hell but have everlasting life

(John 3:16). All you need to is repent from your sins and place your faith in Jesus Christ. The moment you do that you will know and be granted everlasting life in heaven. (Romans 10:13)

Please think about this! 10/10 people die everyday!

properly, i'm sorry to assert i do no longer understand lots with regard to the Catholic, and Pentecostal religions. Baptists, are greater of a project based denomination, a minimum of Southern Baptists like myself. we don't have self belief in confession, speaking in tongues, or Praying to Mary. i understand that the three Religions have the (undemanding) comparable values, and regulations, yet they vary some.
