As a Boy Scout with a Totin Chip, am I allowed to carry my pocket knife around?
I recently received my Totin Chip and I'm wondering whether I can bring my pocket knife with me in public for self-defense reasons.
I'm 14, and I know that the Totin Chip isn't a permit, but it's kind of like saying "this kid has had SOME training in knife safety."
I know that I can't bring my knife to school because there are rules against that, but what about public places like a restaurant or something? You never know what could happen.

Congratulations on the Totin Chip.
As to knife carry, the award gives you no special rights - you need to look up the knife laws of your state.

From an Eagle Scout sure you are allowed, not because of the Totin Chip that just proves you are more responsible to have it. Though it's not a good idea to use it for self defense.

A minor cannot possess a weapon for self defense.
Your chip means nothing legally.
You should know better, and I'd hope that the scouts would have dealt with that issue.
A knife is a 'tool' by scout standards, not a self-defense weapon. You could have your Totin Chip taking away for carrying it in such a manner. It belongs with tools, so in a survival kit or a toolbox, not in your pocket.
