no food can give a dog heart worms because the disease is transmitted by mosquitos

You r sister is an utter idiot
Heart-worms come from mosquitoes who bit the dog or cat and spread the larva that way. Thats why heart worm meds are so important, treating it very expensive and dogs who have a severe case of it are humanly put down since they often don't survive the treatment
