Anyone of average intellect should be able to learn math, even some pretty advanced math. If you are telling yourself that it's too hard and not worth the trouble to get it right, you won't get it right. Mathematics is just another language that tells you about the world and how the Universe works. You have to approach math in that fashion, it's a language. How do you learn a new language, by taking one simple step at a time and mastering it fully and then continuing to built upon that foundation. If you are having trouble getting the math to work out right, it only means that there is something in the basics that you didn't quite understand. More advanced math is built upon the foundation of well understood basic mathematical operations. Go back to the basics and find out what it is that you don't understand then get some help figuring it out, you'll never get the more advanced stuff otherwise.
A good understanding of math will help you in the future by training your mind to reason through life processes in a logical and systematic way. I encourage you to take your math studies seriously and ask questions in class about those things that don't seem to make sense. You might ask: what does that equation mean? Where did it originate from? What is it telling me about the world and nature? What does the graph of this equation look like? Is there any other way to arrive at the same answer without using this particular equation? You know, that kind of thing. You didn't say what grade you are in, but make your teacher bring mathematics alive for you, and give it meaning that you can connect with.

Look upon mathematics as a mystery, a puzzle, to be solved. Always find some small way to reward yourself when you successfully arrive at the correct answer.

I was once like you, thinking math was just a naturally difficult subject. It comes down to how you are taught and your teachers. Check out Khansacademy.com he makes it so simple and easy to learn math.

Maths is all about having a logical mind and being able to work step-by-step
That is, really, all there is to it besides arithmetic and such.

There are no "tricks".
It is not easy.
It requires work, sweat, and practice.
If you aren't willing to tolerate these things, don't bother taking it - you'll fail.
