Why would God put a tree in the garden and say not to eat the fruit?

That's like telling your child not to touch the hot stove, surely they will shouldn't an all wise and powerful God know that?

Love in order to be Love must have the power to say no. The Lord who in Matthew 1:23 Jesus being God with us, and John 1:1-3,14 Jesus our Creator put that tree here so we would not be robots and serve The Lord out of Love but we have to make a choice, that one tree was God's and we were told to respect God and leave His stuff alone as a test. the conditions for our God to accept us same today as then "if" you Love me [then] keep my commandments John 14:15
