Do tires cause hydroplaning?

Our van was originally a rental in Hawaii. could the tires be the cause of hydroplaning at about 50+ on a wet road?

Hydroplaning is when water on the road causes the tire to float and slide on top of the water uncontrollably...this is most common when there are sea shells in the road (mixed in with the tar)

In Florida, they use this in the roads...maybe Hawaii does too...if so, the oil from the shells and tar mixes,

floats to the surface when water is present, thus causing the circumstances for Hydroplaning.

This and tires that are either hot or with very little tree left and you rare ready for fun...Hydroplaning...

    Good Luck....

Its the tires and the road the free way is always where you our going to hydroplane because of all the groves in the road its always a good idea to have all season tries in the winter time no matter what kind of tire you have it will hydroplane its water over rubber

Diving too fast for the conditions is the cause of hydroplaning. Clearly at that speed you are exceeding the tires ability to remove water from beneath the tread.

    SLOW DOWN!!!

hydroplaning is when water builds up under the tires and lifts the tires off the road and then the car will go where ever it wants to go ! just slow down when the roads are wet !

Depending on the tires. Research them to see what there rating is. The balder/shallow treads the worce off you will be. Best bet is to load the van up with family and friends and test it at about 90 MPH for the full effect. Good luck.
