What are some anime like D.Gray-man?

Basically I'm looking for some anime that are dark and creepy (with or without humor) but not super gory, like D.Gray-man. Any suggestions? Some other anime I've loved:

~ Vampire Knight (and Vampire Knight Guilty)

~ D.N. Angel

~ Gad Guard

~ Noein

    Oh my god I love this dark "aura" in animes like Vampire Knight too :D okay then you should watch:

    *Shiki - hmm it's also about Vampires - I think the story is sooo awesome and unique...

    *Inu x Boku SS - so good! Mysterious, some comedy and some romance ...

    *Black Butler - A must watch if you're into darkness, the night and stuff like that -not romantic but theres a lot of action and lmfao comedy <3

    Oh, hey there! ;D

    Ao no Exorcist (or Blue Exorcist) is pretty cool =) I believe it's 25 or 26 episodes. One episode toward the end of the anime made me cringe a little bit, but I don't think it was that bad/too gory. I think the anime is quite funny too :D

    By the way, it's coincidental that I happen to be recommending another anime with exorcists XD
