Yahoo email compromised, now can't get into Yahoo Answers acocunt! Any solutions?

A week or so ago I got an email from Yahoo saying their email accounts had been compromised. It asked everyone to check our email accounts, and it turns out the sub-account I used for Yahoo Answers was indeed compromised. It was a free account (since I'd been at AT&T customer for over 20 years) and it turns out that AT&T doesn't support free accounts, so they won't help me change the password and get back in. (Trust me... hours on the phone.)

That's bad enough, but to add insult to injury as a result of the compromised account and password I can't get into my regular Yahoo Answers account, where I had racked up over 8,000 points. Not that the points mean anything, but I'd just like to keep going with it.

Is there anywhere I can go for help to re-open my Yahoo Answers account under these circumstances? Everywhere I looked said there's basically no support for Yahoo Answers.

Thanks in advance for your help.

Formerly HappyDog, but not so happy about this...

Update:

I know the answers to my security questions but can't even get to that point in any of the automated reset systems. On the phone they won't reset the email because they don't support free accounts. The problem is that the password also no longer works on Yahoo Answers, so I'll have to start a new account from scratch.

Can you remember your secret question? I think that email may have been what this person used to get in your account. Just ignore or report emails from Yahoo that ask questions about your account. Like you said, because it is free there is no support that I know of so those emails will be fake.

definite I have this situation. It takes WEEKS to get a reaction, and when I do, it really is an computerized message telling me what the guidelines are. i comprehend the guidelines - that's why i'm protesting!!! purely in the present day, I had 3 Violation Notices that were no longer in violation of the guidelines. someone change into going back in my Questions and solutions that were previous, and reporting me. purely because they don't like me. I comprehend your frustration!
