Gobble, Gobble 411: Is it a good idea to have the turkey at room temperature before cooking it?

I am cooking my bird this afternoon, that being said, will my bird taste better if I let it sit on the countertop for a couple of hours before I cook it?

Tell me your thoughts; thanks!

I've heard it said that all meat is cooked better at room temperature rather than straight from the fridge. It will be ok to do that, try it.

Turkey taste best when they're left to sit before putting in the oven, when they are cooked at a very low temperature and when they are stuffed. But all these things are dangerous because they can allow lethal bacteria to grow on the turkey and then be eaten by your dinner guests. So it's best to sacrifice some deliciousness for safety.

Of course! I'm a 12-y/o guy, but I cook a lot. I leave my turkey out to sit for around 4 hrs to allow it to get to room tempurature. It makes it tender for cooking. Oh, I can already TASTE that turkey... Hahahahahahaha

No it isn't. Any poultry should go from the refrigerator to the oven as quickly as possible. After eating leftovers should be in the refrigerator within 2 hours
